A couple of interesting developments the last week or so.
First, John Dean has revealed that Deep Throat is ill. Which has led to yet another round of speculation as to his ID. Interesting -- journalists (and probably anyone who just wanted to) who voted on a recent EditorandPublisher.com poll liked Chief Justice William Rehnquist as the new flavor of the day. He had worked for AG Mitchell, was a smoker and is now ill.
However, Los Angeles NBC4's Chuck Henry interviewed dirty trickster Donald Segretti, who knows Deep Throat -- but he claims John Dean is wrong, "Deep Throat is not ill". Also says Haig, Bush the Elder and Pres. Ford are not the guy.
Second, Bernstein and Woodward donated their notes to the U. of Texas, and an exhibit of them is now open to the public.
I'm sure everyone say that the talented transcriber and typist Rosemary Woods has died.
Most importantly, speaking of Deep Throat, a compelling documentary about the namesake film is opening around the country.
