From what i have seen, he is considered more of a role player in the steelers system. They doubt that he can get open on his own unless there is a stud WR on the other side.

ie a price down in ATL.

The Bungles did something right, re-signing T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who actually wanted to come back.
Finally the Bengals are doing soemthing right. Keeping the core team together is important and in my opinion the best option. Talk around town is it left them less room under the cap and hurts chances to get other players in free agency . . . but I'm all for the move. Get Rudi a long term contract and I will really enjoy sending in the check for season tickets.

The Jets and Skins trade receivers -- Santana Moss to D.C. and Laveranues Coles back to N.Y. Both players have to pass physicals first.

QUOTE
Coles' agent, Roosevelt Barnes, told ESPN.com Saturday afternoon that there are still a few issues to be resolved, but that the sides have agreed in principle on all the key parameters. The contract will not be extended beyond the five years that were remaining on it. But Coles will receive guarantees totaling $8 million and, almost as important, will not rebate any of the $13 million he received from Washington in 2003 to the Redskins. That means since March 20, 2003, Coles and Barnes will have struck deals totaling a whopping $21 million in guarantees.
Must be nice, even if you have to live with the name Laveranues. wink
Boltergeist
The Kurt Warner circus will now be residing in the desert, as he signed a 1 year deal with the Cards.

Allen Rossum spurned the Bolts to stay with the Falcons.

The Vikings sign Smoot. That's 3 defensive starters they've added now. Smoot at CB, Harris at LB, and Williams at DT. Should their younger players on defensive come on in the next year or two their defense is significantly improved.

I hear that Mike Tice actually put up some of the money himself for the free agents - from his "take" of scalping Super Bowl tickets! tongue.gif
PhillyFan
All together now....

Mike Tice is a B.... nevermind.

Maybe he can use some of his profit for a "coaching for dummies" book?
W.
From the Minneapolis StarTribune:

"During a conversation Saturday night with the Star Tribune, the informant said he represented a client who "had an ax to grind with Tice" and wanted damaging information spread about him. But the informant insisted that all of his client's claims could be proven.
In the course of reporting the story, however, a number of those allegations have proved inaccurate. For example, the informant said Tice traveled Jan. 19 to Chicago to unload his collection of tickets and returned to the Twin Cities with $250,000 in cash.
On that day, however, Tice was seen at Winter Park by dozens of members of the organization. Later, he conducted an hour-long radio interview at 6 p.m. in the St. Louis Park-based studios of KFAN (1130 AM). Tice said he hasn't been to Chicago since the Vikings played there Dec. 5."

Speaking of offseason movement...

Word on the street is that a certain sting was just signed by the city of PHX...

"Official" HH breakin in tues... 2-4-1... eh CU? Should be busy, but i heard trannies dont tip.
George Twins fan
Man it is just so difficult to continue to support this rathole of an organization. The Vikings should have fired Mike Tice rather than give him a contract extension. Several years of mediocrity, bungling drafts, a lousy owner and coach who could star in the remake of Dumb and Dumber. Ugh!

They've also made two of the most lopside trades in NFL history. Acquiring Herschel Walker for all those players and draft picks and now getting jobbed in the Moss trade. Don't get me wrong, Moss should have been traded, but the Vikes got far less than they should have.

Maybe I will become an Eagles fan after all! frown

I tried talking to Sting last night after I got home, but he was too busy conversing with someone of Asian descent to speak with me about the move. Asian descent... hmmm PF.... Can he give you some pointers?

Well you are lucky, this is borderline stalking as far as i am concerned.

You see, it's tough to be hot and have a fan club.. but really.. when people start moving and all, scares me just a bit.
stinger85
PF, I know you're from Philly and all, but people shouting "Hey A**hole" are not fans!!

Tis true I will be moving to Phoenix. Tis false that PF is hot.

GO CARDINALS!!
coyoteugly
So it's true, Sting is moving to Phoenix... but Arizona doesn't need another "wide receiver", we already have Fitzgerald and Boldin. So this move makes absolutely no sense.
PhillyFan
I would say they signed a TE, but those of us who've met the sting... we know better.
stinger85
The real question is do I pack the infamous visor or throw it away?

I guess that means he said no to my marriage proposal? So much for all that "sweet, sexy, etc." stuff he was saying. All talk, no action. wink

WOW Sting, can you please confirm...

Single wide or Double wide?
stinger85
I don't remember... all I know is it was sure nice to look at!!

I'm talking about action for me, not that loser! wink

Back on topic:

QB Mike McMahon visited the Eagles, who are looking for a new no. 3 QB since Jeff Blake is a free agent. And they might need to look for a replacement for J.R. Reed, who was jumping over a fence near his home and cut the back of his knee and damaged a nerve. He had surgery last week and his status for training camp is now uncertain.

What does your family photo album have to do with anything, CU? wink

Meanwhile, the Eagles are showing some interest in signing Plaxico Burress to a one-year deal if he can't get a better deal elsewhere -- the Giants are no longer interested in him.
PhillyFan
The Gints have zero intrest in Plax, after his meeting with them.... Dude, the Gints have no WR's right now!!!!!! They still dont want the guy?

Something is wrong with him.. dont do it andy, one year or not.

Get well soon JR (my favorite young player on the team). When jumping the fence he didnt factor in the 10lbs of dread he had on his head.... Should teach us all a valuable lesson.
DCBucky
Brett's coming back (even with the depleted OL)!

Happy dance in the Bucky household.

Birds sign McMahon... oh the joy and excitement of offseason when the 3rd string QB garners attention.

Two Rutgers players on one team, that HAS to be a record.

As much as I would like to see the Vikes go after a big name receiver, I'm thinking that they too shouold steer clear of Plexiglass. With the stats he's had and still next to no interest in him? There must be something that we the fans are not privy to. Keep the Robinson-Burleson-Campbell tandem they have and draft a newbie.

What a knee-slapper, Jip!

A former Cheesehead is headed to Minnesota. Safety Darren Sharper, cut by the Packers this week, signed with the Vikings.
Joe in Philly
Hollis Thomas has gone public with his demand for a trade because the Eagles won't rework his contract to pay him more. The Eagles won't trade him until they're good and ready and certainly won't give him more money, especially now that he's gone public.
ESPN.com reports that Derrick Burgess has signed with Oakland.

Plaxico has fired his agent. He's now had five agents in five years -- THREE in just the last year!
PhillyFan
Burgess to da raiders in the biggest overpay of the season. Had a decent year, but is completely injury prone.

Speaking of offseason movement, countown to Sting in PHX.. 3 hours. Valley of the Sun will never be the same.

QB Brad Johnson has gone back with the Vikings to backup Dante Culpepper.

MY NEW YORK GIANTS SIGNED PLAXICO BURRESS !!!!

FOR 6 YEARS, 25 MILLION

Apparently Burress' new agent reopened negotiations with the Giants and got the deal done. Eli now has a BIG target for 6 years!

And Plaxico is a big tall sexy man. Great body!
Sportinlife, do you have any Plaxico pics you can post in Hot Jock Talk? tongue.gif

That's if Burress proves himself capable of being THE main target. He didn't prove that with Pittsburgh, which has had other receivers to share the load.

There was a reason that Burress had to wait this long to be signed and take less money than he "thought" he deserved... Most people believe he is not a true number one WR. Plus, call me crazy but i thought that shockey was the big person to throw to in NY... To me they need a burner to stretch the field and then shockey kills you over the middle.

Eli was a rookie last year, BUT I didn't see anything out of him last year that said to me.. wow this guy should have been the number one pick in the draft. I also cant remember all of their injuries because they were bottom feeders last years.. but...

Hilliard, the other WR, Tiki and Shockey... the gints had a very nice O with them in the past. Given that talent, Eli just didnt do anything that impressed me. However being an eagle fan, his Sacks and Ints.. they did impress me.

He might have settled for less than he thought he deserved but he got slightly more than what the Giants had offered last week. And considering nobody else was even bidding against the Giants that seems really dumb.

Sting is having a tranny convention in may...

CU in high heels...

And I thought you'd reply with something like "better quality of hookers." wink

A host on the morning show said it wasn't looking good, but he was wrong: Eagles re-sign Keith Adams...though why is it only for one year?

Interesting offseason for the Vikings

Viking caught with 'Original Whizzinator'

The "Original" Whizzinator, as opposed to the "New and Improved" Whizzinator???

The best part about the Whizzinator LINK?

It comes in white, tan, Latino, brown and black!!

And this two time substance abuse policy violator was buying it for his cousin. Yeah, that's it. We all believe you.
