Phil Simms (whom I refer to as Chris' dad) is known for saying unintentional homoerotic things during football games and Saturday night was no exception. Earlier on in the game Phil mentioned how Tom Brady often talk about how bad of a runner he is during games. Well, after a scramble to get out of a sack, Phil said, "Yes, Tom Brady is not a good runner but he sure looks good trying."

Oh, the gang I watch the NFL with have a collection of Phil Simm's homoerotic remarks. One time he practically came all over his microphone when describing the guns of the hunky referee Ed "The Guns" Hoculi. Woah, Phil, calm down. Too bad Hoculi was reffering in a cold weather site yesterday (he did the Eagles/Pack game) and had to wear long sleeves.

I got to meet Phil Simms last summer, when I umpired one of his younger sons' baseball games. He lives in Northern New Jersey close to where I love.

I told him that I was a huge Giants fan and was 9 years old when he won Super Bowl XXI.

After that, we never talked about football. We just talked about generic stuff, mostly about youth baseball, which was why I was there in the first place.

He was a very down to earth, easy going guy---not a shred of arrogance whatsoever!
