Time to sign up for our 2005 Pro Football Pick' Em, where you pick the NFL winners each week. Here is the link.

This year, the contest will run through the Super Bowl. We will have weekly prizes during the regular season and a grand prize to the overall winner.

I can't seem to archive last year's winner's total but I see that the 2003 winner had 175 wins. Plus, of course, this year we are playing through the Super Bowl.


There seems to be more parity this year so the total through the regular season may not reach 175...

We are having problems with the database and I e-mailed our admin (who is now in London, so likely won't be fixed until Monday). frown

OMG. I got 4 right. A monkey randomly pressing buttons would have gotten more right (no offense to anyone). I'm going to have teams calling me asking me not to choose them...sigh.

Bah, I only got 7 in week one. Better go sharpen my pencil...

With all the upsets the leaders only had 11 wins, so I'm not at all disappointed with my total of 9. If you don't fall too far behind early, when things are tougher to predict, you can make a solid run later in the season once things more fully shake out and we have a better idea of which teams are for real and which aren't.

I have e-mailed our traveling web developer about fixing the tiebreaker function so we can have a winner, but everyone's win totals are accruate.

Jim, also the weekly total seems to have most of us repeated more than once. Also, if you check anyone's picks, including your own, after the games begin, it always lists the away team as your choice of winner, until the game is over.

The problem with the away team being listed as winner was a problem last year. I just print out my picks for the week and don't bother checking anyone else's until the week is over. wink

So who won last week - me or TexasBoobie? wink

Congrats Trikky! The first perfect score. BTW there seems to be a problem with week 7's Pickem board. Week 8 is fine but week 7 seems broken.

There's no Sunday night game this week -- which game is serving as the second tiebreaker?

To complicate things more, the Dolphins-Chiefs game has been moved up to Friday night. Will this game be removed from the contest or do we have to have our picks in by Friday night 7pm kickoff?

Also, does anyone know if the Kansas City/Miami game will be televised tonight? I looked on ESPN, but it looked like they had their regular programming.

It appears that only the local CBS affiliates in Miami, Kansas City, and nearby cities will be showing the game tonight.

That figures ! God forbid the NFL allow the other CBS affiliates or even have ESPN show an extra game (especially with my Dolphins). It gets a bit tiresome having the Baltimore Ravens on CBS week after week.

Why would you want to watch the NFL on Friday night? Wouldn't you rather watch "Ghost Whisperer" on CBS instead? eek!

That's okay. DC United's playoff game was on t.v. last night anyway, and the Dolphins are, well, let's just say not very good .

Any word on if last night's game is included with the week's pick'em?

Glam Crew, a Colts fan who lives in SoCal won Week 9 Pick 'Em by going 12-2. Mdphl still leads the overall season rankings.

We have a wild scramble this week with 2 people at 15-0 and both picking Seattle over Philly. But we have a bunch at 14-1, so a Philly win could create a logjam. Check out the standings here.

Four people went 13-3 and we will award prizes to each: DETROIT BANDITS, SDScott, RobGinNC and bujeff23. We were unclear on which games counted as the tiebreaker so thought a tie was in order.

We have the contest through the playoffs, so make your picks. We will not have weekly playoff winners but totals will count for the season-long contest.

Mdphl is running away with the season title and it will be hard to stop him in the playoffs.

mdphl has been phenomenal this season!! I got behind by 15-16 games and could never shave it down. I love teams who can finish well. lol!!

I am hoping he can reach a record 200 wins. Take that you homophobes!!

Hard? More like virtually impossible -- he has an 8-game lead and including the Super Bowl there are only 11 games left. He'd have to pick all losers and the next in line would have to pick all winners. It's in the bag. Congrats mdphl!

Marty(mdphl) rocks! Not only is he brilliant at football predictions,he's also an exceptionally nice guy as well.

mdphl is going to finish with 20-25 wins higher than the preceding years' winners. This is just phenomenal. We should have a dinner in Chicago at the GGs to recognize his acuity! A nice award to go with whatever he wins for the season - maybe a NFL jersey of his choice,
