It's too quiet around here.

IN AN ELECTION where JFK repeatedly campaigned on a strict separation of church and state, the letters from the former president’s father—specifically his correspondence with the Vatican’s top administrator, Count Enrico Galeazzi—are startling. In one, Joseph offers to act as a liaison between the Vatican and the CIA if John is elected. “I think that if there is anything you want me to do,” he writes in a 1958 letter to Galeazzi, “you could let me know and I will contact [then CIA Director Allen Dulles].”

Twin58, I'm usually with you, but why is this relevant? Why don't we investigate whether Governator-to-be has ties to the Vatican? He is a devout Catholic, isn't he?

Which begs the question: if he's as pro-choice and pro-gay as many of his homosexual fans claim, does that make him an anti-Catholic Catholic as the extremist right-wingers in the Senate have branded lifelong Catholics like Richard Durbin and Chris Dodd and Pat Leahy? Is Santorum going to try to expel him from the Grand Old Party?

How do pope and company feel about Governator's beliefs? The vatican is promoting barebacking, anti-gay hate, and secrecy surrounding child sex abuse, among other horrors, and condemns members of the faith who take saner, more Christian views, so are they going to slam the Austrian-born actor-politico?

It isn't. Things were slow. I really must get over my Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr., obsession.
