Ah, the Texas Republican Party. Just so everybody's clear who's on whose side, here's a little excerpt from their 2002 platform:

"The Party believes that the practice of sodomy tears at the fabric of society, contributes to the breakdown of the family unit, and leads to the spread of dangerous, communicable diseases. Homosexual behavior is contrary to the fundamental, unchanging truths that have been ordained by God, recognized by our country’s founders, and shared by the majority of Texans. There's no doubt that some of these people have significant policy influence in Washington, and that there is a voting bloc that might be termed "pro-apocalypse", although "33% of Republicans" seems a stretch.

Regardless, this is scary to the rest of us (the unsaved?), and needs to be talked about in the public forum. Thanks for posting the article, Bobby.

Do not put words into my mouth. PF might support the party; I support no one. I vote Democratic just as much as Republican. I vote for a person and his/her ideals, positions, etc. If no one fits that bill, I don't vote for anyone for that particular office.

Well, the 33% figure is footnoted; he cites an article in Christian Century magazine (and wouldn't you know, I didn't save that issue ) but remember that the Southern Baptist Convention has been completely taken over by these people (this whole Rapture/Tribulation/2nd Coming scheme is called Premillenial Dispensationalism, btw; I guess you could just call it PD, which also happens to stand for Pretty Dumb). So his estimate of 15-17% of all Americans seems plausible, which would make the 33% figure for Republicans less of a stretch.

We don't see many of them on the Fenway, redsoxbreath, but they're out there. And they don't like us. And one of them is our very own Dear Leader.

Does that include when practiced by heterosexual married couples? And since "sodomy" includes oral sex, are we to assume that all those straight Republican cowboys down yonder don't like a good bj?

Well dont forget we can sodomize in the Lone Star State now thanks to the Supreme Court-- yeeeeee haw!
