NATIONAL LEGISLATION

“HATE CRIMES”
Late yesterday, the U. S. Senate voted to expand “hate crimes” legislation to cover crimes that target people because of their sexual orientation, gender, or disability. It passed on a vote of 65-33 with all Democrats and 18 Republicans voting for it.

This language could be stripped from the bill when it goes to the conference committee by House leadership.

FEDERAL MARRIAGE AMENDMENT
I spoke to Senator Saxby Chambliss’ office today and was told that the Federal Marriage Amendment would be coming up for a vote the week of July 12.

Democrat leaders in the Senate, including Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschale and Senators Charles Schumer, Barbara Boxer, and Debbie Stabenow have promised homosexual leaders they will kill the amendment.

Senator Zell Miller is a co-sponsor of the amendment and Senator Chambliss has committed to vote for it when given the opportunity.

Please be in prayer about both of these issues.

And the Southern Baptists withdrew from their world federation because it was becoming too "liberal" for them, with a particular slap at the American Baptist Convention.

Are they sure it wasn't because their fellow Baptists were actually practicing the complex faith the Southerners only dumb down and preach? :confused:

The Southern Baptist truly believe that everyone is going to Hell. Now they are condemming their fellow baptists.

The Christian Coallition though makes them look like softies. They encourage memebersto arm themselves and are in favor of hate crimes against people they disapprove of. Very dangerous group!!!
