No rants this time (from me anyway), just found this interesting:
City embraces gay judges / Queer eye for the judiciary: With six gay jurists, Chicago now rivals Frisco and N.Y. QUOTE
\"Pretty soon, having gay or lesbian judges won't be a big deal,\" says Judge Colleen Sheehan, one of the six. \"We want it to be a non-issue. We're like everyone else.\"

BTW, it's interesting that one of the Justices on the Massachusetts Supreme Court is a lesbian. She voted with the minority in the gay marriage case, saying that the court did not have the authority to rule the way they did.

Speaking of gay judges - I remember reading that when the gay marriage issue started in S.F. - those opposed (Campaign for California Families) - submitted papers to have one the Judges (who happens to be gay) removed from hearing the case! Because it would prejudice their side!
As MIB pointed out, one of the dissenters in the Mass. case, happens to be a lesbian.
Ergo: Being gay and a judge does not effect one's impartiality!

Not always, iron. The CA. judge, however, is the grandson of former U.S. Chief Justice Earl Warren and a gay person. He should have at least made some kind of ruling. His bias has tarnished his reputation and damaged his judgeship. He should be removed from the bench for such unacceptable behavior.

"Not always, iron." (MIB)
So, what you are saying is...
Female judges by virtue of their being female are incapable of ruling fairly on issues dealing w/ 'child support' or 'rape'!
Black judges by virtue of their race are incapable of ruling fairly on issues dealing w/ discrimination!
Please enlighten me!
"The CA. judge, however, is the grandson of former U.S. Chief Justice Earl Warren..." (MIB)
Or perhaps you are suggesting 'sins of the father'... because James Warren is the grandson of the GREAT Earl Warren... he should be excused?
" He should have at least made some kind of ruling. His bias has tarnished his reputation and damaged his judgeship." (MIB)
Please elaborate on HIS bias.
Sooo... because a judge (a gay one) is cautious in his approach... that merits consternation of his reputation?
You're a tough cookie. And oftentimes confused!
Splain!
Your thoughts are scattered!
