Full Version: Rumsfeld bans camera phones

I thought the Administration was happy that the pictures came to light and the system worked. Now Rumsfeld has banned camera phones in Iraq. Oh, yeah, no other digital cameras or camcorders are allowed either. The ban is being expanded to the entire US military as well.

Sounds like they wish they could've swept the whole thing under the rug. And now they're making sure no new abuses are captured by those pesky cameras.

This policy is typical of he hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil (or take pictures) administration. Heil!!!

Considering such phones are being banned in more and more places, this is no big deal. If photos are to be taken, let the media do it. Too many security risks involved to let the rank and file take pictures all over the battlefield.

If the policy were a good idea, it should have been in place from the beginning of the war. Doing this now, at the very least, puts an appearance of reactionism and failure to forsee on the policy, and, at worst, is actually an overeaction to the wrong problem. The pictures that came out of that prison are not the problem. They're part of the solution. The problem is the systematic abuse of prisoners.

Yep, lots of media around when they were sodomizing the prisoners with the light sticks. rolleyes.gif

Once again, the Apologist-In-Chief issues yet another nonsensical "ruling".

If there are no pictures to prove wrongdoing, the bastards in this satanic administration can just deny it and move on with more international corruption. What a way to solve this problem.
