Bin Laden niece to star in reality show

Only in America can you have a chance to succeed when you're related to the man who planned the most tragic attack our country has ever seen.

"The statement did not say when the show would be aired or on what channel."

Translation: they're floating this to see what sort of publicity/outrage it sparks. (No doubt O'Reilly, et al, are all over it.) I'm guessing it never gets on the air.

So what should we do? Punish some innocent girl because her uncle is a monster?

How intolerant and unaccepting you are. Not very liberal of you.

Oh! The hypocrisy! rolleyes.gif

I can't stand our current President, but I'm not sure how this has anything to do with him...I gotta agree with MIB here...can't exactly hold this woman accountable for her uncle's actions.

My brother-in-law just cheated on my sister for the 2nd time in their marriage...am I supposed to blame myself for his infidelity? rolleyes.gif

I think the point isn't about punishment but rather reward. She got a spot on a show most likely because she is related to someone infamous, and not for any other special reason. The "only in America" comment should refer to the seeking out of people who are controversial or related to such simply to promote our shows.

This could happen in an America run by anybody. It has nothing to do with Bush. America loves this garbage. If whatever show they're developing for her doesn't work out, they'll just put her on another show just to get attention. My prediction: at some point she'll be on "The Surreal Life."
