If you are speaking of terrestial radio, it all depends on the market, the market share of said station, the time of day, and how long the spots are. 30 second spots during morning drive on a highly rated station in Chicago could cost over $1,000 per spot, and an advertiser never buys just one spot. Usually, a minimum of 30 spots over the course of a week is needed in order to get some bang for your buck.
In the Summer and Fall of 2004 I bought 50 spots
(Major Market - AM Drive time) for $48000, but that included some production and a 20% discount because I bought a 'block' of 50. The spots were then split between two of the companies radio stations that had the demographics I wanted.
