Yes its been a year since those bastards murdered people out having a good time on an Indoneasian island retreat called Bali.

This terrorist attack is now considered by most Aussies as a direct attack on our country, as Bali is/was the favorite holiday destination for an overseas holiday. It was cheap and very much a Hindu state with an Aussie feel, the kids loved it.

You may remember after the bombings there was two, the Royal Australian Air Force airlifted all Australians and anyone else who wanted to get out back to Mainland Australia. Within hours Victims started arriving in Australian hospitals for treatment of Burns and other shrapnel wounds. Some of the braver victims held back and forced others onto the planes as they waited another plane. The RAAF just kept on flying and the Indoneasians I believe had no say in the Australian Airforce flying into their airspace, not that they could have stopped us if they didn't like it.

Us Aussies are a strange breed, we are quite happy for the Indons to hold court precedings in their tradition without any input from us. Sure we are mostly happy with the death penalties handed down even though in Australia we no longer put people to death. Its that countries way and we are happy for their law to be enforced.

This attack changed the way we see our role in the world. We will never be a superpower we dont have the population or the desire for that role, but we are the most advanced country in the South Pacific, South East Asian region. We have the capacity to respond to this kind of event, and we have the capacity to help out in some small way in the World Wide War on Terrorism. This is why we became the Third country behind the U.S.A. and the U.K. to attack Iraq.

We will not be scared off by a group of fools who believe by killing our innocence we will surrender. We are Aussies and these bastards, they killed our kids out for a good time its the Aussie thing to do go out with ya mates and have a beer its what we f**king do best.
