Anybody else think those "giant inflatable Troy Aikman" commercials are a hoot in a way that the beer company/advertiser never intended.

First, did'ya notice that the plastic inflatable version of Troy Aikman has a LOT more personality than the real deal? Get that colorless amateur out of the CBS booth, please.

Second, is it my imagination or does the plastic inflatable Troy seem a lot more interested in women than the real one? Inflatable Troy has a long, albeit one-sided, conversation with a decent-looking woman in that commercial. I know Troy's married (yeah, right, like Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman were) ... but until he married the woman from the Dallas Cowboys publicity office after ... what was it? ... zero dates, Troy was linked with fewer women that Elton John (the same number, if you only count live ones).

CITT, I guess you don't read the tabloids. I intentionally get in the longest line at the supermarket so I can skim the Enquirer, Star and Globe. In the mid-90's, Troy would show up about once a year in the tabs with some female country singer under the headline "XXX meets Hunky NFL Player" or something. These sightings usually followed another bout of rumors. She'd then disappear from whence she came.

I don't care if Aikman is gay, I just love the media aspect of the whole thing.

OK... On the subject of Troy. I have recently moved back home to Dallas and was told of an interesting story. Troy Aikmans house caught fire a few years ago and a frantic "house boy" made the 911 call. The media tried to squash it and supposedly it was right after this that Troy was married.

Has anyone ever heard of this?

No I have not. I think the commercial is a hoot also. They should put a big hole in Troys' mouth though!!!!!!

FIrst...TROY IS NOT GAY! (He told me so last night).
He was dating: Lorrie Morgan, and no, she didn't just disappear right afterwards. In fact, she has several PLATINUM albums! And she just married another hunk..Sammy Kershaw.
Troy was also seen with Nancy Kerrigan for a while. But he and his wife (after dating for more than a year (I know, I was counting)) finally hooked up and they had a baby in August.
I love watching/hearing him on Fox, especially with Moose Johnston!
The rumours about his gayness were strengthened by Barry Switzer, although I cannot imagine how he would know, since he has to be the most boneheaded coach of all time.

Okay, I'll settle for the inflatable doll.

A few years back, the TV show "Extra" tried to be a hybrid of news/personality stories and did an interview with Aikman. At the time, show proucers thought of having the male anchor(Brad Goode) do the piece but changed to the female (Libby Weaver) because of rumors regarding BOTH Aikman and Goode and didn't think it would be appropriate of a male to ask another male about gay rumors.

i remember when aikman came out of college and sports illustrated did a feature story on the draft process. they focused on him and had some pictures of him weighing in in his white briefs. it was pretty hot. i had a crush on him from afar, but he is pretty stiff in his body language
