Well he has never made his Republican support a secret, but did any of you catch the shot he took at Kerry last night during the Colts/Pats game?
in the fourth quarter after the two teams swapped turnovers within minute of one another:
Madden, "Wow, that was kind of like a flip-flop"
Micheals, "Well you're in the right state for that"
It seems small but if it were a shot at Bush the Republicans would be raising a fit, remember all the times they say, sure have your views, but when I am at a concert/event I want you to sing/perform not speak out.
Well I wanted to watch football and get a break from politics, not listen to Al Michaels make sneaky remarks about Kerry!
The boycot happy Republicans, would have been all over this if Elton John or any of the pregame artists had taken a jab at Bush, But Gifford seems to get a free pass since it was aimed at Kerry.
Edited to reflect the right anouncer...It was Al Michaels not Frank Gifford, who left ABC years ago...DUH...See how little I care about these announcers, I didn't even know who it was...lol

I heard that. Two things: wasn't it Al Michaels and not Gifford? And I thought it was at the end of the 3rd quarter.

It could have been worse. He could have flashed his boob. Or Kathie Lee could have sang!
Realizing Giff has to go home to Kathie Lee, Cody and Cassidy each and every night of his life, I might be willing to spot him a bit of slack. He must be one bitter, bitter man.

george...you are right about Gifford, but I am sorry I had the wrong guy at the start it was Micheals, who likely has his own reasons to be bitter.

Understandable mistake. I was surprised to hear it from Michaels of all people. It was a bit jarring--I don't want to be reminded of the election in the middle of a game. And I were from MA, and an easily offended type (and I'm neither), I would have taken it as a knock on more that just Kerry--like MA is somehow known for flip flopping or something. Anyway, I'm sure he regrets it.

And speaking of those Republican values...
John Elway and George Bush get together...... Nothing means family more than John Elway getting divorced and moving on to a Playboy Playmate......

Yeah, just last night I heard a news story about how MNF's ratings are down and Madden's NFL video game has a bigger audience now than the show (although that's hard to measure with any semblance of accuracy). Supposedly ABC is thinking of canceling MNF or at least moving it to a different night, like Thursday. That's speculation, but you're not alone in your lack of interest.
