His truth is not my truth...no matter how many times you repeat yourself. (Laughter)(Applause)(More Laughter)

QUOTE
Now, a personal savings account would be a part of a Social Security retirement system. It would be a part of what you would have to retire when you reach retirement age. As you -- as I mentioned to you earlier, we're going to redesign the current system. If you've retired, you don't have anything to worry about -- third time I've said that. (Laughter.) I'll probably say it three more times. See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda. (Applause.)

That reminds me of an old saying...keep saying the same lie over and over again, and pretty soon it becomes the truth. Interesting way to run a country based on morals.

It's not just an "old saying."

Joseph Goebbels, Nazi propaganda chief: "If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State."

Joseph Goebbels: "The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly - it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over."

Fantomas, I don't see any resemblance at all. I've been conditioned to disregard the facts. I only believe what I hear...

New York Times came out with a story today about a White House official who has continuously edited environmental reports to downplay global warming and the link to greenhouse gases.

If you go to the Times website they have examples of some documents with the editing.
