Dumbya is giving a political speech tonight which most the the major networks will not be showing live. Im sure Karl Rove is fuming about this one!

Interesting that Fox News is undecided.

This would have mattered years ago, but I'm sure nowadays networks make the reasonable assumption that since CNN etc will cover the event there is no real reason for networks to preempt their schedules for it. I think pretty much anybody who wants to watch this speech can.

Fox had to worry about whether or not it would interfere with their telecast of the baseball game. Why the Fox News cable outlet was undecided is beyond me.
The ABC and NBC affiliates here in Baltimore decided to show the speech anyway, even though their networks weren't. Not sure if it was because of the proximity to DC or because they thought he might bring up the sniper shootings in the DC/MD area which, with the latest victim this morning being a 13-year-old, were covered non-stop on the evening news.

Having heard the speech, I hope congress at least succeeds in limiting the authorization for war to the current regime in Iraq and insists on a completion of new UN inspections and UN authorization for war.
Since we are demanding to be treated as an exception to international laws, I doubt any of this will happen, and that, if we are lead into war by the current administration, it will be with the reluctant support of the UN and allies. This really bodes ill for the aftermath: fighting over the spoils (oil, power vacuum in the Middle East, etc.), increased tension in several situations around the world, possible increased terrorism.
I still believe there may be a calming down after the interim elections. I certainly hope so.
The real danger would be if a war is undertaken, or another 9/11 type terrorist event should occur, before then.
