Pew poll shows W leading a generic Democrat by only 5 points AND any incumbent under 50% is always considered vulnerable.

This is deja vue -- he has fallen almost 40 points since 9/11 (using the approval rating figure of 53%)a la Daddy Bush after Iraq I.

Deja vu it is not. One major ingredient is missing this time around: Ross Perot. There will not be a 3rd party candidate as significant as Perot was in 1992. Besides, it's a looooooong time until the election. It's way too early to count Bush out--or in, for that matter.

Actually, I read recently that H. Ross Perot is up to something regarding the 2004 race; I'm not sure if he plans to enter, but he supposedly is unhappy with W's policies and presidency....

I can't name ANYone in the public arena with a bigger ego than Perot.
