Condi "hmmmm, should I filter this down to him?"

This quote from Oct. 14 pisses me off more and more everytime I hear news of another soldier dying:

"The story of what we've done in the postwar period is remarkable," Nethercutt, R-Wash., told an audience of 65 at a noon meeting at the University of Washington's Daniel J. Evans School of Public Affairs. "It is a better and more important story than losing a couple of soldiers every day."
Jim Allen
The media--you know, that nest of left-wing vipers--is now not allowed to cover in any way the return of flag draped coffins to military bases here in the US. It'd cause people to get upset, you see.

Thanks, guys, for posting this. People claim critics of W are "haters," but is it hating to ask that the man tell the truth on occasion?

BTW, how's this for a "filter problem":

Yahoo!: Rockets hit Wolfowitz's hotel, kill US soldier

Wouldn't they have secured the perimeters of this building by now if everything is going SO WELL???
RazorbackTX
That Wolfowitz story isnt going to fit in very well with the new PR/marketing campaign.

"So far this month, almost every night we send them home," Silicio said. "... It's tough. Very tough."

"Pentagon Angered by Photos of War Dead"

In the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave Department: "A military contractor has fired Tami Silicio, a Kuwait-based cargo worker whose photograph [above] of flag-draped coffins of fallen U.S. soldiers was published in Sunday's edition of The Seattle Times."

Perhaps one of that 70% of US corporations that didn't contribute a single penny of taxes to the war effort will instead offer Mrs. Silicio a job.

So its ok for His Chimperial Majesty to use dead bodies in his commercials but the 'Murcan people arent suppose to see the coffins of dead soldiers?

Oh yeah, that would conflict with the "cakewalk", everything is peachy in Iraq theroy.

So the photographers were fired, two more unemployed on Chimpy's watch.

The gallery of all 361 pictures from Dover AFB that our wicked government does not want you to see. Feel free to take your head out of the sand (unless, of course, you are already one of the enlightened ones) and see for yourself that the price of war is more than just budget deficits.

From The Onion:

Bush To Iraqi Militants: 'Please Stop Bringing It On'

WASHINGTON, DC—In an internationally televised statement Monday, President Bush modified a July 2003 challenge to Iraqi militants attacking U.S. forces. "Terrorists, Saddam loyalists, and anti-American insurgents: Please stop bringing it on now," Bush said at a Monday press conference. "Nine months and 500 U.S. casualties ago, I may have invited y'all to bring it on, but as of today, I formally rescind that statement. I would officially like for you to step back." The president added that the "it" Iraqis should stop bringing includes gunfire, bombings, grenade attacks, and suicide missions of all types.
