Full Version: Terrell Owens to the Cowboys ?

An insider on ESPN's Cold Pizza says Owens will be a Cowboy next season.

It seems the troublemakers in football always wind up on the Cowboys or the Raiders. And it wouldn't surprise me to see the desperate Tuna go out for T.O. to boost his ego with another Super Bowl ring.

My question is for the Cowboys to pick up T.O., wouldn't the Eagles have to trade him? If this is the case I plead for the Eagles do not trade T.O. to the Tuna!!! If you don't want him, then trade him out of the division. As a Giants fan I want him out of the division. I definitely do not want to see him on the hated Cowboys.

My friend Matt may shoot himself if they take TO. He bleeds blue and silver, and has hated TO on a personal level ever since the "star incident."

TO is due a big roster bonus on March 1. So the Eagles must either cut him before March 1, or be prepared to pay him some big bucks as part of his contract. It's expected that the Eagles will cut him at the end of February, there by limiting his shopping time for a new team. However, once the Eagles cut him, he would be a free agent and be available to sign with anybody.

You heard it here first,

If denver either loses sunday or in the supe...

TO goes to Denver.
amazin12
Thanks for the prediction. I hope he does go to Denver. I ABSOLUTELY DON'T WANT TUNA GETTING HIM. I don't understand all the contract clauses, but whatever the Eagles can do to keep him from Dallas please do it.

As a Giants fan, it's hard enough watching Tuna wearing a Cowboys jacket twice a year. So T.O. in a Cowboys uniform would probably drive me to suicide. frown
Adam
Didn't Nick Saban signal that he--read the Dolphins--would consider taking a gamble with TO? This, despite the fact that some Dolphin players have said they don't want him on the team. Of course, a number of Dolphins said they'd never welcome Ricky Williams back and then did just that.

That same ESPN source said that Keyshawn Johnson would be cut to make room for T.O. and his potential big contract.

Yeah, that's where I go for all my inside sports. To some lame-ass morning show on ESPN. How is this show still on the air and "ESPN Hollywood" got canceled? And do they still have that bimbo Kit somebody? It started out with 4 hosts and she was the one in the promo dancing around, opening her jacket up almost like she was stripping, etc. And then they had her on that "Dream Job" show giving advice and grading the contestants like she's a broadcasting genius!?!

But I digress. wink

So far there have been rumors about the Bucs, Jets, Dolphins (as Adam mentions) and now Cowboys having interest in him? I wonder if this will turn out to be a bidding war and he'll actually get all the money he wants?
amazin12
League sources say that Jerry Jones will "pony up more money" for Owens than any other owner.

It's all making sense to me. A nasty selfish troublemaker of a football player goes to play for an egotistical smug coach who works for an evil ruthless son-of-a-bitch for an owner.

The Cowboys, with their real talented young defense, will likely be in total control of the NFC East next year.

For me, this is the 2nd time I heard this. Tampa sportsradio said a few weeks ago this was the likely team he would end up on.

Just repeatin.
Cadillac
I hope it's Denver and NOT Tampa. I don't want that cancer in Tampa. I don't think Tampa can afford him which is perfectly fine by me.
Kenny
I don't think Tampa can afford him either. One thing I have wondered about though, if he does end up say a team like JAX or Tampa, would he get all that much media attention like he has in Philly and SF? More than likely though, that would make him work harder on getting the attention he so craves.

Letter to Gruden and Bruce Allen: NO to TO!

I don't think he will end up in Tampa. The only places I've heard are Denver, Dallas, or Miami.

Just for shits and giggles though, let’s assume that the illegal aliens do sign T.O. then cut Mee-Shawn who is basically the number 2 possession wideout right now. The pokes are asking TO to fill the gap of going over the middle and just getting the tough yards/catches, and sending the other speedster down the field?

You really think TO wants a part of that? It’s not the other guys game to play the Mee-Shawn role. T.O. can, but he likes his TD’s and deeper routes.

Plus, Parcells runs a max protection, run type of Offense. When he plays teams like Wash/Philly who blitz he’ll send two guys out and keep everyone else into block.

Not saying that he wont go there (to stick it to Eagles Mgmt). I’m just saying their style doesn’t really fit him. Parcells would basically have to make some changes to his offense and expose his old QB to more hits (with no good backup on the team).

The only thing that makes sense is the fact that next year is probably Parcells last year in dallas and he might be desperate to win.

Mee-Shawn had trouble in Tampa, but he’s always been a Parcells guy. Didn’t he have like 100 catches with no TD’s years ago? Mee-shawn likes to play for him and shuts his mouth and is a good boy. Not the case for T.O., and I don’t see him ever being a Parcells guy who shuts his mouth and does as he is told.

Denver gets T.O. out of the NFC and a new start. He goes to a team this is missing exactly what his talents are. A coach who takes chances on losers like him and will treat him like a god and baby him. Plus, if Denver loses, Shanny WILL be desperate to win.

I’d mention Washington as a contender, but to sing T.O. they would surely have to let Arrington go. Arrington is exactly what the Philly LB’s are missing right now…. I’d almost wish for that to take place…

As usual, Just sayin…

Terrell Owens' last touchdown with the Eagles came against the Denver Broncos.

His next touchdown could well be for those same Broncos.

Multiple league sources said last night that Owens and his agent Drew Rosenhaus were in Denver discussing a potential deal with Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan and owner Pat Bowlen.
I repeat: Hmmmmmmm...
Adam
Though I can see how TO could work in Denver, I have to be afraid for Jake Plummer. After all, TO went after Jeff Garcia & then Donovan McNab. Plummer doesn't seem to be as solid as McNab so he could crumble fast with Owens in the room.

As usual.... PF with his finger on the pulse of the NFL.

Plummer... ummmm if he went to the pokes, a 40yo would be throwing him the ball.

Outside of choke manning or brady, no QB would be worthy of throwing him the ball.

DENVER.... It's Denver.

As much as the Redskins need a receiver opposite Santana Moss (and, God, do they need one, maybe even two, receivers.), please let Terrell Owens sign someplace else!
PlummerBlo's
Well kids as you can see.. I'[m not a big fan of ole' jakey... However, as I told a friend, there are only a few places that TO could go... not somuch because of the qb but because of the coach.... Though Drew ( TO's agent) is as reasponsible for his behavior as the man himself... they have to realize, screw up in Denver, your done with football, but seeing how hes gettin 7mil just by being cut, maybe TO doesn't want to or need to play.
As for Jake... dont feel bad for him, the fans in Denver will run him out long before TO has a chance...
PhillyFan
Just to be clear, TO gets nothing for getting cut, it's a roster bonus.
PlummerBlo's
See... Philly really needs to get rid of TO...
or he does get money for nothing...
but does he get his chicks for free???
PhillyFan
He gets ZERO, and he is yet to be paid for any games past his suspension cause they went after his roster bonus.

If he isn't cut on March 1st then he gets that roster bonus (or whatever he negotiates in a new deal with his new team, which would supersede his current deal). If he's cut -- by the Eagles, or by whichever team acquired him in a trade -- he gets nothing.

They're now considering him in Kansas City. Carl Peterson told a paper in KC that he's going to have a long talk with new coach Herman Edwards about taking on T.O.

Heard a report on the radio that according to Peter King, the Redskins are \"major players\" in the T.O. sweepstakes.

Meanwhile... McNabb rips T.O. -- even referring to Owens' comments as \"black-on-black crime\" like his father did back during the season.

QUOTE
\"It was definitely a slap in the face to me. Because as deep as people won't go into it, it was [a] black-on-black crime. I mean, you have a guy that has been criticized just about all his career and now the last criticism is that I'm selling out because I don't run anymore, by an African-American [J. Whyatt Mondesire, the NAACP chapter president who ripped McNabb in a column that appeared in the Philadelphia Sun].

\"And to say if we had Brett Favre, that could mean that if you had another quarterback of a different decent or ethnic background, we could be winning. That's something I thought about and said, 'Wow.' It's different to say if we had Michael Vick, Daunte Culpepper, Steve McNair, Aaron Brooks, Byron Leftwich. But to go straight to Brett Favre, that slapped me in the face, like what I've done and what I set out to do…\"

What sweepstakes....to the loser go the spoils? The Skins can't really think adding Toxic Omememe is actually going to help them. Especially not after this year, when the Skins had better results than they had talent, demonstrating again that once again under Gibbs the sum was better than the parts. If Danny thinks that chasing another self-centered, looks good on paper and with the measuring tape, no one is safe from his tongue wide-receiver, then he will once again undercut the Skins development as a team.
