Full Version: Things I've learned this year....

I have learned a few valuable lessons this year during da football season...

1. Fat man Andy Reid will never ever never ever win a big game unless he becomes a little less conservative.

2. HUUUUUUUUUGH Douglas is the most important person on the Iggle D and screw the fact that they usually dont pay for older players.

3. No matter how much pre-warning you give, never ever take your best friends nelly little bf to a game at the Vet ever... The concept of parking lot drinking makes no sense to them, no matter how much fun you tell them it is fun... Living by the simple rule of leaving them at home is always best.

4. The buc D is NOT one of the best of all time, good yes, great no.

5. I've seen one buc fan in my entire life and he was wearing a kickers jersey... if you are a buc fan, you are a bandwagon.

6. Never allow your best friends bf to go to a football game with you... Altho the expression of their horror sitting in 700 level is nothing more than priceless....

7. Now that the cowboys hire parcell's perhaps they will lose by less than 20 points per game to the iggles next year...

and 8... steve spurrier is a dope.

I agree with 1, 4, 7 and 8 and am inclined to agree with 2. I can't agree with 5. I'm sure there are plenty of Bucs fans in the Tampa area. Now if you're thinking of outside that area then I might agree. As for 3 and 6, well.... wink
PhillyFan
Anyone in Tampa who is a bucs fan, other than about say 1 or 2 of them... FAKES.. bandwagon...more important, idiots cause they waved those "battle Fags, i mean FLAGS"
Theo
You guys should have been in San Diego for the Super Bowl. Bucs fans were everywhere! They aren't as diverse as the Raider Nation, as they seemed to all be Caucasian and older, whereas the fans from Oakland were black, white, red, and yellow; nonetheless, the Bucs were representin'.
George Twins fan
Geez am I the only one who has grown really tired of these posts? Is there something in the water in Arizona? Amazing you've been able to make such a moronic impact in just 4 days.

This is beyond idiotic. There are a number of Bucs fans here. Suddenly your team wins a Super Bowl and you must be a bandwagon-jumper? Too stupid! I've been a lifelong suffering Viking fan. If they were to somehow miraculously win it all next year, would I be accused of jumping on? Get real. And stop complaining about the quality of threads if THIS is the best you can contribute. rolleyes.gif

The Eagles sucked for years. Is it necessarily so that YOU just became Eagles fans in the past couple of years?

And I apologize in advance to the moderators and my fellow members for ther tone of my post, but enough with these interlopers already! I really need to follow my own advice and ignore these ass****s.

Oh GVF, give the guy a chance and a break. I think his observations are really funny, and having lived in Phila for 13 years see the humor in his words. And Andy Reid is loved until he screws a big one up and then you have never seen so many Monday Morning Coaches. Talk about a bandwagon.
Theo
George, your seniority here gives you a little bit of leeway. You're allowed 2 snippy retorts per calendar year as opposed to just 1. wink
Tim
Not sure if I agree with George that the post is completely "idiotic",but the assertions regarding Buc fans strike me as ludicrous.A certain amount of "bandwagoning" occurs with any team in a championship run-it's sort of the nature of the Beast. However,I lived in Tampa in the mid-80's and "hated" the Bucs, primarily because of the obnoxious, outspoken fans I was surrounded by.As the team evolved over the past 20 yrs or so, I've mellowed and find myself rooting for them in certain instances- like against the Iggles biggrin.gif You have to feel happy for the long-suffering Bucs fans- who stood by their team even when it was setting a record for futility. smile.gif

How many do I get? biggrin.gif

The point about Bucs fans is idiotic. Beyond that, I'm not particularly bothered by this post. I think some of the anger at him is based on his posts in the Politics and Religion forum, and as such perhaps it would be best to address him there, if needed.
George Twins fan
Just for the record, I was addressing his follow up post more than the initial post. As far as my limit of snarky posts, I know I've used up more than my share. Perhaps someone might be willing to float me a loan. tongue.gif biggrin.gif

But I am not going to sit by and let someone use the word FAG without commenting. And please don't try and tell me it was meant it jest. Read the guys other posts if you need more evidence.
PhillyFan
George, you are just way too uptight. If you thought my buc fan thoughts were idiotic, then you should not read anything i think about cowboy fans.

Dropping the L outta Flag... creativity. Did you see them waving those stupid flags during the game? I can understand bringing the towel in and waving it... a few people bring in their big flag and wave it. 60k all with those flags? did anyone see the stinking game that was going on? No way you see the game with the guy in front of you waving away, no way. 60k people waving their little flags... big ship in the endzone that shoots off tshirts... if that is not gay, i dont know what is dude...

"bandwagon" fans. There are certain cities (new york, philly, chicago and a few others) who go out and support their teams, they have a loyal fan base. There are other cities that dont support any team unless they WIN. ie the Diamondbacks. During their world series run, they sold out 3 games all year, and that was cause the cub fans came into town. Then boom NLCS and you cant find a ticket. Thats called bandwagon when every soccer mom puts up her FLAG on the SUV. Like it or not, the bucs fall into the latter of the categories.

Are their Iggle bandwagons? well of course, but they are easy to spot in their brand new Dmac jersey.

If you are angry with me for my political opinions, that's up to you... Bushy is not my most favorite pres ever, but you know what.. he aint doing too bad.... Also, Is it a matter of i'm just a dope for sticking up for him, or a matter of no one is tolerant of me being conservative? Please notice that i do not curse, like others in response to me. Liberals hate any opinion that does not fit their little minds.

whew... now one other thing.. i've posted/read a few iggles board in my lifetime... sometimes people agree, sometimes they dont... opposing fans take little swipes at other teams ect ect, isnt that part of sports and following a team and not liking other teams? Hence, if i dont like the bucs, i dont have to be nice.
BigBucBoy
Just now read some of your stupid ass comments here, PhillyFan. Your hatred and anger toward Tampa Bay is actually quite funny. The champions on top always become the most hated. Hard to swallow the Eagles getting completely dominated in their own house, huh? Sorry to say buddy, but the Eagles are definately Tampa's bitch now!!
As one of the most loyal and die hard season ticket holder Buccaneers fan since the 70's, your whole crap about everyone being a band wagon fan now is outrageous. Me and thousands of others filled up most seats in the old Tampa Stadium during those 14 consecutive years of losing records throughout most of the 80's and into the 90's. The dumb ass fans in Philly would have likely burned down that rathole called The Vet before they would have supported such a struggling franchise for so many years. And why would you know any Bucs fans. . . you live out somewhere in the freaking west dude. . . Just like I don't know any Arizona, San Diego or Seattle fans.
No doubt, there will be some bandwagon stuff going on now that we're champions. . . but that always happens dude.
You and JoeinPhilly can say all the negative things you want about the Tampa Defense. . .let the results speak for themselves. . . 1st in practically every major def ranking, basically shutting down your Eagles for all but a couple of minutes in the playoff game. . .and then holding the #1 rated offense to 60 SIXTY!! yards in the first half of the superbowl. . and ending up with 5 interceptions and 5 sacks. yeah, I guess our defense if just "average". . just like your arrogance is average.
As for waving those flags at the San Fran playoff game. . . what is the freaking big deal? Oh it's too gay for you? Whatever dude, it looked awesome from the stands and was a great, free souvenier to take home.
In summary man, you appear to be a dried-up, angry and self homophobe to me. . . who is definately a sore loser. as always - GO TAMPA
BigBucBoy (hey Theo buddy. . whazzup??)

hey i dont think joe in philly said anything bad about the bucs... Just remember there kid.. one and done like the ravens...

I'd hardly call one win being someone's bitch, enjoy your championship and remember where you have to go play next year also. It has almost become a ritual for the yearly visit to the cold. Please remember who sent your team packing the last 2 years in a row before that when the bucs were supposed to win.

As far as that game went, did you dominate or did the fat man hand the game to chucky?

Living out west gives you a nice perspective on what bandwagon is and what bandwagon is not... There is absolutely no more pathetic place to see a football game than when the cards play. The dbacks didnt sell out a game until the NLCS the year they won, it is quite comical. As far as sporting events go out west, the only thing to look forward to is the yearly voyage back to PA for a game.... As far as the weather, well i think it's gonna be 75 here today LOL...

By the way with rice gettin 8 mil a year now, how ya gonna keep fat ass sapp? talk to the front office and get him cut, then maybe i can stomach the buccies.

Not average. Just not legendary. They're not the '70s Steel Curtain, for one example of a better defense.

You're awfully bitter for someone whose team won the Super Bowl. Kind of worried that it was a fluke?
BigBucBoy
NOT bitter dude. . . . World Champs is 100% SWEET!!!!!!! Buccaneers rule. . . . .
PhillyFan
bucfans are very much like cardzfan in az, no one cares till they win, then all of a sudden you have a million of um who supposedly suffered, but were right with them the whole time...

buc fan at parade "I've loved this team ever since they moved here, i'm glad that team that wore orange isnt here anymore"....

LOL then again didnt only like 100,000 show up for the parade?
BigBucBoy
PHILLY DUDE, wow the Bucs success this year and blowout win in the Superbowl must REALLY be bothering you to continue on ( and on) bashing the both the Bucs FANS and the team.

The eagle's LOST man. . . get over it and move on. . . . . sore, sour grape losers like you are so so boring and predictable.
Jim at Outsports
Hey Buc Boy:

Use the scoreboard test:

Bucs Super Bowl Wins: 1
Philly Super Bowl Wins: 0
