In another thread, Cattledog posted

Well, it's been a difficult day, and I am not going to make it to services tonight. In fact, I am still at work as I type this. But, I just wanted to wish my fellow Jewish OutSporters L'Shanah Tovah!. Special thanks to Pat125 and Marc in Calgary for the cute Rosh Hashanah e-cards that they sent me!

I haven't been on the board during the holiday, and didn't get a chance to do the math before, but...

If you were born 9/13/1969, you were, in fact, born on Tishrei 1, 5730, the first day of Rosh Hashannah that year (assuming you were born before nightfall. If not, you would have been born on Tishrei 2, 5730). Which means your 35 Hebrew birthday would have been September 16, 2004. The Hebrew calender is a lunar calendar which shifts every year from the Gregorian solar calendar. To keep up with the seasons, there are leap months occasionally (I believe seven years out of nineteen have leap months). I got exact dates from this page.

On the eve of the Day of Atonement, G'mar Chasimah Tovah. Have an easy fast.

So...I figured wrongly...I was born on the morning of Sept. 13, 1970...so, whatever that means on the Jewish calendar. smile.gif
