CHENEY ENERGY TASK FORCE DOCUMENTS FEATURE MAP OF IRAQI OILFIELDS

(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption and abuse, said today that documents turned over by the Commerce Department, under court order as a result of Judicial Watch’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit concerning the activities of the Cheney Energy Task Force, contain a map of Iraqi oilfields, pipelines, refineries and terminals, as well as 2 charts detailing Iraqi oil and gas projects, and “Foreign Suitors for Iraqi Oilfield Contracts.” The documents, which are dated March 2001, are available on the Internet....

Whoa! I'd always thought the idea of turning Iraq into the US's potential oil whore as a justification for Iraq II was a bit exaggerated, even though I've advanced it myself, so now to see that Cheney had already mapped this out in secret with the Energy Task Force.... It also just grows more disturbing and creepy with each new revelation.

Where do their lies end? And what is CHENEY's role in all of this? He has been mysteriously silent throughout....

Vice Presicent Richard Cheney may have few equals in behind-the-throne manipulators.

Well...maybe one

Larry Klayman, head of Judicial watch speaks.

they shouldn't practice this policy of secrecy. And in fact as a conservative organization(judicial Watch) that believes that the individual should have rights, that wants lesser government, the Bush administration should, being conservative as well, so it claims , welcome this decision.

If you're a conservative, you believe that the individual, the citizen, has rights. That's the fundamental principle of being a conservative. That the government is not all-powerful and is not like Big Brother and gets to hide things from you and make decisions for you.

So I don't understand the White House's policy. They would be well advised to change it. And it would be good for them politically to change it because they're creating a terrible impression with the American people that there's something there that's being hidden.

And here I had two Democrat judges voting for me here. Voting for Larry Klayman, a conservative. And the conservative judge really stretching things. I mean he really went way out on a limb and said, \"This act, this Federal Advisory Committee Act, where we're seeking these documents is unconstitutional.\"
I'm glad to see a true conservative speaking out. instead of all these self-styled "conservatives" who aren't really conservatives at all, just zealots.

That's from the interview with Bill Moyers. I had considered quoting from that, but I noticed that the parts worth quoting amounted to the entire interview.

Klayman might not be the most likeable person around; he is remembered for having brought a lawsuit against his own mother a few years back.

One doesn't have to be a likable teddy bear to judge whether their individual statements have merit or not.
