I know three of them are hiding out in San Diego, Meechigan, and Arizona.
There's a v-e-t-e-r-a-n from San Diego who posts here on occasion.

If they wont join, just kipnap 'em.

Not only are recruiters now resorting to lying about recruits (hiding criminal backgrounds, drug use and other disqualifying issues), they are resorting to kidnapping in hopes of getting their numbers - amazing! Does anyone else feel a draft in here?

And the good news keeps on coming. Not only are we deploying reservists and guards troops to Iraq for too long and using stop gap policies to prevent soldiers from leaving the military, it turns out the Iraq war is also destroying families at a record pace:

QUOTE
The number of active-duty soldiers getting divorced has been rising sharply with deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq.

The trend is severest among officers. Last year, 3,325 Army officers' marriages ended in divorce - up 78% from 2003, the year of the Iraq invasion, and more than 31/2 times the number in 2000, before the Afghan operation, Army figures show. For enlisted personnel, the 7,152 divorces last year were 28% more than in 2003 and up 53% from 2000. During that time, the number of soldiers has changed little.

Now THAT'S the way to defend marriage!

"Ugly, broodish [sic], dense fellas": You need to stop hanging out with so many Repuglicans. But hey, you agree with BRUTISH pope Maledict that you're "intrinsically disordered...."

And CPT, I think your post and those of RazingHacks point out a clarion moment... demeaning military recruiters and the military effort in Iraq --you're no friend of America nor military service, you're no patriot, and you sure don't have room to question ANYone's service to country.

I'm looking forward to a day when we can get an Anti-Sedition Act passed and put some misguided Lefties away for a while.

Don't get me wrong, dissent is good within limits. But your last post and those of RazingHacks strike many as unAmerican and moonbat-ish... and that's why I still get IM's from Outsport members saying --give em some hell for me, too.

UnAmerican and unPatriotic... reminds me of Alec Baldwin and Sean Penn on their better days.
MiMatt38
You go Fan... a one man anti-Catholic bigot brigade marching in the shallowest and shortest parade ever. I trust God has a special place in Hell for those who demean his personal representative on Earth. But the bright side is you'll finally meet some of the people here when you get there, eh? Just kidding, Fan.

Raze, CPT, fantomas, please give em some hell for me, too. smile.gif

Mommy mommy can I come out from behind your skirt to clicklty click click on my computer?

Yes, baby, you can, but dont forget your tea party with the other girls today, and stay away from those mean military recruiters.

OK, mommy I promise.

Remember, kidz, mommy said not to feed the troll...
MiMatt38
RazingHacks... I know you can read... you may not be able to comprehend. No need for skirts, mommie's or your's, to hide behind.

It's unAmerican and unpatriotic for you to continue to smear the military, military service, or govt service. Canada has an open border --I suggest you head there so you can be one with the other Blame-America-Firsters. Or France, your choice RazingHacks.

Are you questioning the reality or the truthfulness of these reports - are Raze and I part of some huge conspiracy to spread lies about the military?

These reports are REAL and they reflect a PROBLEM in our society. Not ignoring problems in our society, like our military's continuing difficulties in recruiting and retaining personnel, is vital in a free democracy - it is how you make things better. More importantly, this is not Communist Russia, and the First Amendment is still in force, I believe.

As for being a "friend" of the military, one of those American's in the line of fire, as we speak today, is my F*CKING BEST FRIEND!!! He is a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force, and on his third tour through Iraq (the Air Force limits its tours to 4 months, the Marines and the Army expect at least a year). He is over there trying to manage an air base to support our troops, and I am deathly afraid for him. Every time some blackhawk gets shot down by the insurgents who are clearly losing steam, I wonder if his mother will get the call today that he's been killed.

Don't you DARE question my patriotism or my status as an American. This war is being fought for a lie, and being mis-managed by one of the worst administrations this country has ever been forced to suffer through. That is my opinion, based on the facts I read every day in the newspaper, hear about every day on the TV, and learn from my friend who has ACTUALLY EXPERIENCED COMBAT!

Until your precious King George suspends the Constitution, it will continue to be my right to express my opinions AND to draw attention to the myriad failures of our useless "Leader."

CPT, thanks for your post. And I am sorry to hear that your friend is having to take part in this unjustified war. Some of the people on here who think we shouldn't be allowed to speak out are the real unAmerican commies on this board.

Thought I'd share something one of my friends in a Yahoo group posted...

QUOTE
Just read my friend Rich's blog -- he's the guy who's stationed in Baghdad right now.  Only about 17 more days before he comes home, so that's great.  Anyway, he has a daughter, Samantha, who's in third grade.  Apparently, yesterday, some little monster in her class told her in the meanest possible way that her Daddy is going to die over in Iraq and there's nothing she can do about it.  God, children can be monsters.

Anyhow, Sam reacted about as can be expected -- panicked, vomitted, basically lost it, and had to be taken out of school by her Mom.  I shocked she didn't get violent with the kid, but good for her.  Personally, I woldn't have blamed her a bit -- I'm not a proponent of physical violence, edspecially against kids, but if a kid ever deserved a solid beating at the hands of another kid, this is the one.

So damn angry.
I hope his friend, and CPT's friend, and all of our military personnel, make it home safely.

Oh, and don't forget, let's not feed this troll any more. Clearly he feeds on the pain he causes others, as in this case.

Wow, JIP...what a little brat that girl was! Good to hear the soldier's kid didn't react violently, though. It would have only validated the other kid's views.

I am 50 and slightly overweight, and trust me, people like you I don't EVER expect, or want, a smile from. I EXPECT that IF I ever did go near someone like you, that I would have to pay my 250 bucks to tie you to the Roman Cross in my basement to train you properly.

Thank god I'll never be that desparate.

JIP, I don't "feed off" anyone's pain, gheezer. And when did you get elected "BB goon" along with MillerBeltch, RazingHacks and BobbieDearest?

The thing you miss are the IMs and emails from other guys here who have grown weary of YOUR type of postings and ramblings and nonsense, gave up offering comments, and now simply enjoy the smile when your side gets drilled here --after years of having a free ride. And they really like that I don't back down from bullies.

Nope, no one's feeding off others pain. You just got a problem being in the minority, being intellectually dishonest, and thinking those two attributes give you a right to spew indiscriminately and with abandon.

Sorry, the truth squad won't allow it.

And CPT_Doom, last time I checked your best friend hired on to do a job... did he think the guns, bombs, and tanks were just for show? The question is when you demean the military's effort is that being patriotic and a well meaning dissenter? I think not. Most American's think not. Veterans who haven't been mind-melded with the DNC think not.

And to sit back and trumpet the press's handling of erroneous stories about some prison abuse, or the lack of resolve in fighting the war on terror is exactly that --unAmerican and undermines military and domestic resolve... cut and run isn't an American core value. Leadership is.

I also have a best friend... he's in Afghanistan as a sharpshooter protecting GIs taking out Russian mines sold to the Taliban by the f*cking French! And I have two other friends (one an ex-bf)in Iraq I believe are forward deployed. Do I engage in morale busting chatter? No. You shouldn't either. Even if you think cheap political gain warrants it.

The difference is that you, and BobbyDearest et al, see it all as fair play to advance your political agenda and Bush-hating rhetoric while decrying others for questioning your patriotism.

Your loyalty.

Your American spirit.

It should be questioned because you're not helping your friend nor my friends... maybe a little reflection and discernment on your part is in order? And please, it isn't about lockstep marching with the religious right... it's about accepting America's and the Free World's role to advance democracy, economic and educational freedom, and build a better world for our families.

No troll here... just someone who isn't enamored with intellectually dishonest rhetoric from the Left.

A question for the mentally stable:

Since when did encouraging people to join the military make them unAmerican?

Just wondering.

My friend, who voted for GBush in 2000 and against him in 2004, knew EXACTLY what he was getting into when he joined the Air Force. In fact, he became one of the only Civil Engineer sharpshooters in the Air Force during the first Gulf War, when he did 11 months in that region, both in and out of combat. Which is why he, and many other military members, do not believe that the lives of our troops should be callously and unthinkingly thrown away on a war that did not need to be fought, and about which the government lied.

I'm sorry you see that as UnAmerican - I was taught it was the OBLIGATION of every American to demand accountability and responsibility from our leaders. That's why I personally called for Clinton's resignation after the Monica scandal broke (his actions just too trailer-trash for a President) and why I believe Mr. Bush's lies and conduct in this war are impeachable.

I also want to point out that I only posted to this thread because it was about the need for troops - a need that is getting worse month after month. Many analysts now believe that either a withdrawal from Iraq or a draft will be necessary to deal with the manpower shortage, but then again they live in a world of reality. I don't think that you or any other supporter of our sham of a leader should be forced to go into the military.

When recruiters who are paid by MY tax dollars are resorting to kidnapping to fill recruiting quotas, you better be damn sure I will talk about it, and decry it as a thoroughly unAmerican activity that has no place in a free society.

And you are right about Newsweek - they made a glaring error. The Koran wasn't flushed down a toilet, it was just pissed on - which I am sure makes a world of difference to your average Muslim.

This troll, who continues to whine that he's being bullied when it's him and his American Taliban who are the ones doing the bullying, is so full of lies it would almost be hysterical if it weren't so pathetic.

Now wait, i've gotten quite a few PM's saying how out of touch and looney you guys are (even for dems you go overboard). So I'd not go that far to scold mr matt.

However, i'd not argue with the captian when he is truly concerned for his friend.. that sorta goes beyond a political discussion.

I was raised Catholic, Mimi, went to Catholic schools from kindergarten through 12th grade, and know that religion inside. I'm hardly "anti-Catholic"--but it's interesting to me how you keep dodging my basic question, which is do you agree with pope Benny's statement that you're "intrinsically disordered," or that gay relationships are "fake" and "anarchic"? Do you believe this hateful crap? If not, say so.

Oh, and by the way, any Christian with sense knows the good Lord put ONE representative on earth, His Son, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Jesus never once condemns homosexuals as "intrinsically disordered" or "anarchic" or "evil"; that's the pope's and your sickness, not the Lord's or Christ's.
