Giants had first and goal at the one and couldn't score! They end up losing and the fans will be looking for Fassel's head on a platter. Eagles are already up 14-3 at the half.
Chiefs and Bengals are 3-3 at the half. Marvin Lewis must have that defense fired up. And the Bears are stunning the Rams 14-3.
Not much offense so far today. Only Atlanta and Cleveland seem to be scoring alot as the Falcons are up 20-3 on the Saints and the Browns are leading the Cardinals 20-3.

You know things are bad for the Giants when they finally have a game with no turnovers (until the last minute when it didn't matter), get over 300 yards of offense and still lose by 18 points.

Finally a great day to be a Dolphins fan! They finally win a close game at home over a good Ravens team. Excellent defensive effort! ...and the Chiefs undefeated season is over! The '72 Dolphins remain the only undefeated team in history! Now, if the Patriots could only lose!

It's too bad the Chiefs are no longer undefeated. I think they're still the best in the league, though. Everyone else is in a jumble for second. Of course, that jumble is a lot closer to first. wink
What happened at the end of the Houston-Buffalo game? According to the Yahoo boxscore, "Andre Johnson runs up the middle, safety" with 3 seconds left. In the stats, Johnson is listed as one run for MINUS 34 yards. Did he take the ball and run backwards 34 yards into his own end zone??? And that was Buffalo's second safety of the game. Weird.
How does Tennessee win by only 3?
How does Oklahoma win by only 38? Oops, sorry. Wrong league. Okay, ummm, how does Cleveland win by only 38? wink

What the hell happened to the Vikings, losing to Oakland? The game was blacked out here, of course, even on Directv Sunday Ticket. They never can sell out that enormous stadium...

nah, told you, too afraid if I say "damn" the mods will bump me. We are playing like crap, fortunately not for the reasons others have stated. Penalties, offensive line and soft D is killing us, all of which if not corrected will not make the playoffs. Which doesnt look possible anyway. Was in Charlotte for the game visiting some friends, man what a ribbing I got there! lol
Plus got a new pup that is consuming practically every waking moment! Blood hound, and quite THE handful.
P.S.- funny though, the postings over the past few weeks without the Buc fans have not been very interesting. Livin it up dudes!

Sports Illustrated last week said "Chiefs Perfect (Thus Far)". Is this the continuation of the SI jinx?

Were the Chiefs on the cover? If so, they're another victim of the jinx.
And now...since according to what I've read in the thread about the Gay Games, apparently sports cannot exist without a cultural presentation as well, here is the cultural portion of our sports presentation: a haiku...
The Pats beat Dallas
Fourth down call blew chunks, Cowboys
Eagles tied for first!

Well Dallas played the Patriots similar to the way they played Tampa, good defense but no offense. Quincy still has a way to go to show he has turned the corner. Cattledog sorry the PATS didn't lose but then you did not pick em to lose.

Cincinnati's win is the most impressive so far. KC is still the top team, but they were outplayed from start to finish. What about that cornrowed doll Peter Warrick! He almost made me forget that Tony Gonzalez and Priest Holmes, the cutest couple in the AFC, were on the opposing team. And to think, Marvin Lewis almost had to beg for his coaching job.
Rams stole a win AGAIN...against Chicago, no less. They'd better get their damned offense together or they'll be struggling against the likes of Cincinnati and Cleveland later on in the season.
I wanted Dallas to defeat the Pats, but Carter couldn't put together a winning drive. 3 INTs isn't the way to win, Quincy, and poor tackling also doomed Dallas. Brady knows how to win. New England is moving right on up the power rankings. I'd say put them at No. 3 behind KC and Tennessee.
Cleveland's win came against Arizona, the worst team in the league by far. THE WORST. Atlanta, San Diego and Jacksonville may have worse records, but Arizona is the bottom feeder of the league.
Minnesota doesn't want to win. 398 yards by Culpepper, yet the team can't shut down the opposition. Blame it on the THG, Vikings, blame it on the Raiders' 'roids!
Donovan said once again today, "Rush and co., kiss my -----ass!" Philly is what, 7-3? Go Eagles! Giants are out of it, and finally, they'll be motivated to can Fassel (and find a solution to the Collins problem).

Don't be too surprised if the Eagles end up with home field advantage through the NFC playoffs again.
Oh God, someone shut up Chris Berman, PLEASE! What the HELL does ART CARNEY have to do with sports????? So he shared his last name with a football kicker. So what?? Forget that "Die Mommy Die" movie...we need "Die BERMAN Die!!!!"

"398 yards by Culpepper, yet the team can't shut down the opposition."
That's a total distortion of that game. The Vikes lost mainly BECAUSE of Culpepper. He threw three picks (one returned for a score) and fumbled twice including once at the Raider 10. As a Minnesota writer noted: "Culpepper played his worst game of the season. There is no doubt of that, and he admitted he played poorly."

Wonderful to see the Bucs lose. It would take an enormous collapse by the teams ahead of them for them to make the playoffs. Good riddance.
Bengals looked good; Chad Johnson backed up his prediction. But *tee hee* he wears braces. Brace face! Tin grin! Metal mouth! [JA, tin grin for 2 years]
The Bills looked awful. Drew is gorgeous but he looks awful as well.
What the hell has happened to the Vikings? The wheels have completely come off there, haven't they?

Yeah, I thought about that! I figured, though, that I am so out of contention in the NFL pick 'em contest that I would rather just have New England lose.

Kenny - that is a great excuse. Maybe the dog ate Grudin's gameplan?
I'm not counting the Bucs out yet. They have a lot of talent, great coaching staff and loyal fans (well, at the least the first 2 are true

The bucs have a soft schedule coming up.
However, if they lose to the saints once more this year, they are done.
The pirate ship was pretty quiet during that game... does the crowd just sit on their hands or what?
All that being said, 9-7 could very well grab the last playoff spot in the NFC this year...
This being said, the buc fans will be back, when and only when they win...
Didn FattSapp just say they were the best team in the NFL?

Kenyatta Walker HAS to go!
P.S. - Keyshawn put his house up for sale last week, any takers?

Seahawks looked impressive in the first half, but since it was against the Lions, you can't read much into the victory. I did enjoy seeing the close-ups of Joey. He had a huge contingent of supporters in the crowd.

Well, the Chiefs unbeaten record finally came to an end yesterday, at the hands of the Bengals , no less. And even though I like the Miami Dolphins, I tend to agree with Jim Rome's comments today on his radio show. Basically he said he is sick and tired of the '72 Dolphins constantly gloating over their 17-0 record year after year, rubbing their hands with glee when yet another team fails to match that record. Apparently some members of that team (he didn't specify which players, and I don't want to assume it was all of them) broke out the champagne upon the news of Kansas City's loss. Rome said this displays an utter lack of class and sportsmanship. No doubt about it, the '72 Dolphins deserve recognition for their accomplishment, but this blatant smugness, hoping for another team to lose, is wearing a little thin. I venture to guess that even some of the present-day Dolphins are a little embarrassed by the antics of their aging 'ancestors'.
While Rome didn't mention it, I couldn't help but think of the contrast shown last year when the wife of the late Walter Payton showed true class by warmly congratulating Emmitt Smith when he broke Payton's all-time rushing record.
Getting back to the Chiefs...it is being rumoured up here that Ricky 'Frito' Ray, QB of the Edmonton Eskimos who won the Grey Cup yesterday over the Montreal Alouettes, is being courted by a couple of NFL teams, including Kansas City. I'd be sorry to see him leave the CFL, but will wish him well, especially if he goes to the Chiefs, which already has another former CFL-er, receiver Marc Boerigter (played for the Calgary Stampeders a couple years ago). Not only is Ray a great QB, but he's almost as cute as Trent Green!
