Please, please, please let him not run. Earth to John Kerry: you are not going to do any better in 2008 than you did in 2004. You are not Richard Nixon and it sure in the hell won't be 1968. In fact, you're not even Grover Cleveland. I liked you, I voted for you, I sent you money, I prayed that you'd win, but you were beaten by the worst president in our history, so follow Al Gore's lead, and please go back to representing the good people of Massachusetts. (We all know Teresa is probably cheering that she didn't have to undergo the "hell" of dealing with hostile media for 4 years.)
Please, please please let Hillary Rodham Clinton NOT run in 2008. Please!!! She will win even fewer states that either Al Gore OR John Kerry won (and Kerry won fewer than Gore). She will lose so badly that we won't even be able to talk about "blue" states, it'll just be the blue corners--and she might not even win Washington State. Please Hillary, keep representing the good people of New York, who love you, and for whom you've done an excellent job. Or run for Governor of that state. Unless your husband does first (and he needs some attention--the man didn't look well tonight on TV). Or something. But DO NOT RUN FOR THE PRESIDENCY.
That doesn't leave many options. Mark Warner, Evan Bayh, that younger member of the Pryor family from Arkansas, Tom Vilsack, Katherine (sp.) Sebelius, etc. Not an inspiring or lively one among them. But at least several are from the "heartland." Maybe if Governor Blago survives he might do it. He does have great hair, though that doesn't count for much anymore.

Fan: Hillary said on "Larry King" the other night, the only thing she is concetrating on now, is running for reelection to the Senate in '06, so we don't have to worry about a Presidential run it sounds like. Re: Kerry, in comments made last week by his brother Cam, he makes it sound like Kerry has left the option open to run. I agree with you, we need somebody else, somebody different, some body who is a bit more effective in all areas of getting a message out, and being able to connect with voters more effectively than Kerry did.

FT, Hillary has formed an exploratory committee to run in 2008. Count her in, whether you like it or not. However, don't be so sure she'd lose more states than Kerry did. This is thinking as foolish as conservatives saying she'd get creamed in a landslide.
She is a very shrewd politician, one of the shrewdest in Washington. She is very cleverly and intentionally acting and voting like a moderate to conservative in several respects. She's on the stump talking about God and religion and moral values. She's doing everything she can to build a record far from a liberal one, and if she's successful, she can fool enough people into voting for her.
