Hey,

I just published a piece on Gender Identity issues for my college newspaper. The article includes a quote from Eric "Gumby" Anderson in terms of how transgender inclusion affects athletics.

From the article:
QUOTE
Whether it's on application forms (which currently still only have two check boxes for sex and none for gender), arts groups that rely on single-sex membership or sex-segregated teams, the inclusion of transgender individuals may provide a challenge. In the area of athletics, sports sociologist Eric Anderson, author of the upcoming book In the Game: Sport, Homophobia, and the Gay Male Athlete, says, \"Transgender athletes present a real threat to both the way we do sport, and the way those who control sport think about issues of sex and gender.\"
Very informative. Thanks for posting!

Good article Paul. I wish I had seen something even close to informative in the Daily Tarheel in the late 90s. Instead we had small articles on coffee and how 20 hippies wearing Abercrombie shirts and holding Prada bags were protesting Nike's use of sweatshops. Ohhh the irony we lived in.
