Ah, yes, freedom of speech. I remember when it wouldn't get you arrested for "defiant trespass". That's before these bratty fascists stole the presidency.

"Laura Bush praised the administration's achievements in the war on terror and the economy."
If she's listing "achievements" in those two areas it must have been one hell of a short speeech.

the wholen fiasco with the arrest is nothing but an embarassment to the Bush campaign.
Why didn't someone in the campaign intervene and prevent the arrest? They cold have simply ;et her have her say for a few minutes and be done with it. That would have made them seem caring and feeling.
Instead... trying to drown her out with shouts of "4 more years!" and then arresting the mother of a slain soldier can only bring very nagative publicity.
Whoever was handling this event/P.R. should have known better and never let it get out of control.

Compassionate Conservatism My Ass!
Sad that this event even had to happen.
A President who stole the White House with the help of his brother in Florida, and a 5-4 Supreme Court decision; and who now has over 1,000 war dead in Iraq alone, with no Osama bin Ladin in custody; and world-wide sentiment against us, surrounded by corporate scandals, will be forever remembered in the annals of history as the biggest embarassment of our country, and the biggest failure of popular democracy ever.
Please help rid the White House of this travesty in November.
Ok, I'll step off the soap box now... :-)

Ref, why would you want to get off your soapbox? I stay on mine all the time around here. I like the view.

I saw a clip from another incident at a George Bush talk where the police/security took this lady, pulled her by the hair, grabbing her arm to get her to leave, without even seeing if she'd be cooperative first. Nothing says freedom like that!
As for this lady, it's pretty sad the crowd treated her as a joke/taunt there, considering they were pretty much ridiculing a woman who lost a son in Iraq. That's special.
