In public comments yesterday in Lititz, PA; Shrub criticized Kerry for 'jumping the gun' on massive amounts (Some 380 Tons)of explosives missing from storehouses in Iraq -
"...A political candidate who jumps to conclusions without knowing the facts is not a person you want as your commandeder in chief!"
Dear Mr Bush,
I totally agree. I am with you 200%. You are absolutely correct.
I do not want you as my commander in chief.

Maybe he's just trying to rally his Christian base

I think Dubya's a Class A moron, but I'm not sure it's a big deal that he flipped the bird to the camera. If he had done it smack in the middle of the State of the Union address, okay, but this was just someone being silly. At least this time he was trying to be intentionally funny ...

Gaga, it actually is a big deal when you hold yourself out as some big holier-than-thou messenger of God. He's a coke-whore, drunken wannabe cowboy masquerading as a saint. The bird-flipping incident merely shows what a hypocrit he really is.

I never get that impression the he's smart or self-aware enough to masquerade as much of anything, but I see your point. I've personally flipped the bird on, lo, many an occasion ... so I'll hold Bush accountable for lots of things but maybe let this one slide wink

In addition to the reasons KeyWest mentioned, it is a big deal because Bush claimed he was going to restore integrity to the office of the Presidency as well as be a moral leader. "Flipping the bird" may not seem a big deal, but there are parents who still try to instill some standards of behavior in their children and look to the President--whoever it is--as one role model. The VP has already (proudly) used profanity to impugn an elected official on the Senate floor and now the President sends us his very best.
Won't someone think of the children??

There are already more than enough reasons to fire the man on 11/02/04. This one-fingered victory salute doesn't really add anything because we didn't need any more reasons.
