Once again the hollywood media says, we love peace but we'll carry our own guns, what's good for us is not good for you! The NRA would be proud of Penn and welcome him as the new spokesman, unless he's got plans to vacation with Saddam and proclaim... Iraq has no weapons.

How come Mr. Penn can get a California 'Permit To Carry'? It is almost impossible, especially in Los Angeles and the Bay Area to get one.
I guess the HollyWood crowd is more threatened, better connected, and more valuable than the rest of us.

Thank God more states are challenging this abuse of the Second Amendment, and as of this month's victories, there is a contiguous set of states (a majority of states) that stretch from the east to the west coast.... i.e.. you can now DRIVE cross country totally legally with a concealed hand gun!

But if only the likes of Mr. Penn (and Rosie O'Donnell,etc..) are being granted 'special rights' by Democratic Sherrifs, I may have to re-evaluate my aversion to gun-control.

We have a local 'Pink Pistols' here in the Bay Area, dedicated to undercutting the myths and stereotypes of gun control. NBC San Jose investigated, and will be running a piece on it very shortly.

I just don't get it when people feel they have to denegrate people's skills when they don't agree with their politics. That just seems ignorant to me. To each their own skewed view though.

And the guns comments are goofy too. I think what gun control advocates advocate (not that I think Penn is even one of those) is handgun gun registration such as Penn is exemplifying.

Then there was that movie Penn did with Christopher Walken called At Close Range (I think), which spawned a Madonna single, "Lived to Tell" (one of the first where she didn't sing in that squeaky-pants range). Never saw the film, but I remember a review headlined, "Dad, can I borrow the family gun?"

See how much people hate him now.. he needs to carry not one gun, but 2! HEY! thats why he didnt see any weapons in Iraq, they were all in his car!

Unless Sean Penn was a gun control activist, I fail to see the hypocrisy. If anything, the NRA ought to oppose the war, so as not to infringe on Iraq's right to bear arms.

I am a little confused, are you happy that people can travel cross country with a concealed hand gun, or appalled that it can happen? You're not too clear.

I personally think it's our constitutional right to own, and carry a hand gun, as long as you're smart enought to know how to clean, store, and take care of one. If Mr. Penn want's a gun, more power to him, although I don't know about leaving them in my car. I'd keep them on my person, or in my house.

Just as a side note: If Guns cause crime, do matches cause Arson?

You can disagree with someones politics and opinions, but there is never ... NEVER ... ANY excuse for insinuating someone's a Pauly Shore fan. Never! That's sick. It's beyond the pale. It is something that is just not done in civilized society. Ever.
