Pretty interesting new show on CNN I am watching right now. They have a ton of new poll numbers. The news is not good for Shrub, nor for Hillary I am afraid. Shrubs unfavorable rating is still below 50% and falling. At about 46-47%. And there is a solid majority of Americans that think the war in Iraq is a mistake.
For Hillary, the news isn't very good either. A majority think she would be a strong leader, but her unfavorables are rather high, and I don't think they will do much better as we get closer to the '06 election. More people felt she would be a divider than a uniter. Remember Shrub said he would be a uniter, and not a divider? Not good for Hillary.
They are talking about this new woman from the GOP, Pirro(?), or something like that, that has earmarked running against Hillary in '06. Word is she is razor sharp, but Hillary has a huge war chest of over $12 million right now and growing toward her Senate run in '06.

Pirro will probably choose to run for Governor, rather than Senator. She's the Westchester County DA, and while she is very sharp, she's got a husband that served time in jail recently for tax fraud or something along those lines. I see that as dooming her candidacy from the start. I don't think she has much of a chance, unless the self-aggrandizing media whore Elliot Spitzer does something really stupid.

No, Pirro is choosing to run for Senator, so the national GOP will hook her up. The New York State GOP is small potatoes.
She'd lose either way, though by going up as the sacrificial lamb against Hillary Clinton, she'll at least get some loot to pay for yet another plastic surgery experiment. And yes, her husband is a convicted felon.
Spitzer's campaign slogan is about as easy they come: "I MAKE THE SLEAZEBAGS PAY!"

Oh, she is. And talk about a media hog...she actually would give Eliot Spitzer a run for his money in that department, though all she does is call press conferences when someone in Westchester County loses a fingernail in the White Plains shopping mall or trips on a trail along the Sprain Brook Parkway....

Hmmmm......I think just as I was typing she'd probably not run for the Senate she was announcing she'd run for the Senate. I think she's a sacrificial lamb in either case, but it'll be somewhat interesting to see her go toe to toe with Hillary. My guess is Hillary will try to avoid her as much as possible - Pirro seems intent on driving home the message that Hillary is using the Senate seat as a stepping stone to a Presidential bid, while Hillary seems intent on rewriting her history yet again and presenting herself as a moderate.

They both really hit the Husband Jackpot though, didn't they? Something kind of ironic about a prosector who is married to a man who is a convicted felon.
But these two aren't the first female politicians who've had to try and overcome their husbands issues. Geraldine Ferraro anyone?

I thought the same thing, George. The one smart thing about choosing to take on Hillary is that it cancels out the sleazy husband issue. Neither woman can with a straight face try to make hay of the other's hubby's legal issues. For Pirro, though, the deeper problem is she, a prosecutor, signed the joint tax return that was fraudulent. It's too bad, because, she's a pro-gay rights, pro-choice Republican woman with a suburban base, and many people find her attractive and telegenic. Personally I think she's a bit shrill and too attracted to Maybelline, but my opinion on her seems to be in the minority.

Is there a
"Wolf" in Hillary's closet?
I've always found Blitzer's reporting to be decidedly on the conservative side - not necessarily a bad thing as long as you maintain journalistic integrity.
But is he skimming along the edge on this one issue: Israel and Palestine?
The Situation Room, and CNN in general, have taken on more and more sensationalistic overtones IMO: Fox-Lite so to speak.

Wolf Blitzer is just terrible. He has very little chemistry with anyone he talks to. He has zero capablity when it comes to cross talk with other reports/anchors. The only fun thing for me about this show is that it is evident, to me anyway, that Wolf and Jack Cafferty do not get along. That's fun for me.
