I recently joined LLEGO (actually, about 9 months ago), sending them basic starter dues and a additional donation for their 2002 conference in Miami.

No letter of receipt, no thank you, no "OK, we got the envelope".

I sent a card or a short envelope asking why and requesting confirmation of my membership, followed by an e-mail regarding same, as they were preparing for Miami, and most likely rushed (although this reality should be accounted for in workhours planning).

Still nothing.

What kind of organization does this, and why?

Whenever you send HRC (and just about every ohter gay organization on the planet) dues - even if it's the basic amount (and... rolleyes.gif you sent the basic amount last year) - they still send you an acknowledgement, and a few pieces of correspodence, keeping you in the loop, and saying thank you for your (appreciated) support.

With LLEGO: nothing. They put me on their online mailing list, but this basically does nothing for me, because, as some of you know must know, it's geared (like many services in the LGBT community) toward health professionals exclusively and people seeking grants to do mental health.

Did I do something wrong?

How can an fund-raising organization run itself without communicating with the people that support them financially, even if it's not the bulk of their support?

I am disappointed in LLEGO, to say the least.

Who/what the hell is LLEGO? No mention and no link. You automatically assume we know.

It's the national Latina/o LGBT organization.
