Last night before the (horrible) Monday Night Football game I was watching ABC News. They are doing a series of segments called "American Red-American Blue" to kind of gauge what each color thinks about each other. They focused in on 2 cities, Evanston Illinois, a blue mid sized city and suburban Wheaton, Il. a red bastian. They asked the 2 groups how they saw or viewed each other. The red group from Wheaton said they thought blue folk viewed them as people who carry their bibles around with them all day wherever they go.
The blue group said they thought red people viewed them as "being on the fringe of everything".
A man from the red group said he felt that blues were trying to "force" gay rights issues down their throats, and of course they resented this.
One lady from a blue group said she felt less interested in spending much time around red staters, and certainly not wanting to discuss politics with them either.
I thought this was an interesting start of how each group views the other.
