That's funny, at least Bill Clinton admits he lied about hisinfidelities in his book.
Lets see if Georgie admits to his lies about the real reasons we went to war with Iraq. Maybe a little verse from Yentyl quoted- "Papa, can you hear me?"
I'd rather have someone lie about who they screwed than a reason we went to war in a country that, although majorly screwed up- did not warrant the extreme response it received. Afghanistan was clearly warranted- Iraq is no...too many people in his own party and a Presidential (i think- could be wrong) commission find too many things not quite clicking.
To be on topic, though- I don't think Reagan was necessarily evil- I think he did a lot of good. But there were some very specific things that had an influence on the gay community and the poor that didn't quite mesh- so you have to understand if you went through rough times in his administration, that you would not think very rosily of him.

Hey thats fine, if according to this poll more Americans think Reagan was a better President, that just lowers my opinion of the people who responded to the poll, considerably. Like kick said, at least Clinton finally came to terms will all his faults and he admits them. The things I will remember most about Reagan are Iran/Contra (Ollie North), huge bottomless budget defecits, and his negligence with respect to the aids situation.

Hate to burst your little bubble there PhillyFan, but I don't think a poll taken a week after Reagan passed away is in any way "scientific". Do we need to review the polls (those you ignore) of each DURING their presidency to get you in touch with reality?

Polls on politics are about as scientific as creationism.
Example, if youre an AOL subscriber youve noticed many political polls lately. Most on their main page in a head to head easy to find matchup- Bush beats Kerry by a substantial margin. If you actually read other articles on the same service, and some of them have the same polls- you will find the opposite results (there is one poll of AOL users that shows Kerry winning every state but one). I dont think either poll result is likely. So please, move on from your little polls. Live in reality.

Well, Dallas, puckman1 is one of the most poll-dependent persons on this board. If there's even the tiniest poll showing Bush trailing by even a point, puckman will post it.
PF, this poll is so ridiculous. The man just died, and unless someone is universally hated, people will generally look favorably upon someone. I'd bet some of the results are skewed due to the sympathy factor and the afterglow of the media's weeklong Reagan memorial coverage. It's not unlike the convention bounce Kerry and Bush will both experience after their respective conventions this summer.
Time needs to pass before an honest comparison can be made between the two men. Of course, the biggest problem with
that are the memories of the poll respondents. The more time that elapses, the more difficult it will be for people to remember a lot about either man. This is truer if Clinton is also dead by that time.

As usual, PF is out of touch.
No one cares? The book was already #1 on Amazon before it even came out. Thousands of people lined up and camped out overnight to buy the book at midnight last night.
I know you dont let facts cloud your judgement, but hey, there it is!

. MIB, once again you are wrong. Please enlighten me to any recent poll numbers I have posted here. As I have said before I understand the only poll that counts as you put it, is the one in November, but you have to understand, poll numbers can be very informing, especially when an incumbant President,in this case Shrub, is running only even, or behind.

As for that recent poll, what on earth took my fellow Americans SO LONG to figure out what a disaster this war and W are/were? Are most people seriously better off today than they were when Billy Bob was in office? I don't think so, especially in many of the states that voted for W.
As for Iraqgate, I remember when Colin Powell, whom I used to respect and would have voted for, went before the UN and made a fool of himself. Several of us on this very board saw right through the WMD farce, especially as he was laying it out, and said so then. Yet way too many people actually believed it. I don't think I'll ever understand that; can anyone explain?
The whole early war period also feels like a bad movie to me now, almost hazy, though I do recall vividly having TomFord denounce me for "scuttling" to my computer to complain about every misstep by W. Of course, TomFord, despite that and the Reaganophilia, I think you're sharp as a laser. Same for gmg. And the patriot himself, William, who really ought to have a conservative humor site. I'd visit it!

I think our President is a little out of touch....
Bush was asked whether he was satisfied with the level of political, economic and military support coming from European nations in Iraq.
"First of all, most of Europe supported the decision in Iraq. Really what you're talking about is France, isn't it? And they didn't agree with my decision.
Yes, France was the only country in Europe where the people and/or government didn't support the war. Mmmmk
