No offense, but the New Yorker is not really something I'd call part of the mainstream media. It's not particularly a news magazine. It's like an Esquire type magazine....where they do talk about politics, but those stories are not supposed to really be news oriented, but more feature like articles.

The whole 'liberal' branding of the media is hilarious to me. The media spent years with Bill Clinton's affairs and controversial situations as headlines. How is that being liberal?

And how about the media's treatment of Bush? They do NOT ask hard questions or him or his staff members. They pretty much let the sketchy situation leading up to the Iraq war go by just trusting the administration. Republicans complain about how there's all this negative news about Iraq....but when's the last time you saw the liberal media talk about civilian casualties in Iraq? I do not think I have EVER seen it.

The fact is these murder and killing stories are what people want to hear. What are headlines on your local news? Local crimes.

And yeah, look at all this media coverage of the whole Downing Street memo and such.

Keep in mind, the American media is not a liberal media........it's an American media. It is unbelievably pro-American and pro-west.

Civilian deaths in Iraq, Illini? Good God, have you been under a rock? Watch any --even CBS-- MSM newscast almost any night... it leads with the number of people killed in Iraq in that day.

And how about the pcitures and film of collateral damage and deaths during the bombing phase? Gheez. How quickly they forget.

CNN has a heartbreaking story today about an Iraqi family...I guess this makes them unAmerican.

I'm talking about during the war. The news never talked of civilian casualties around the war. And I don't recall seeing all this devastation on TV and people wondering around homeless and crying on American TV either.

Now they talk about civilian deaths because it usually involves terrorism.......not the U.S. military.

Say what you will about Kerry, but his recently released war records actually IMPROVE upon everything he and his supporters claimed--there are even MORE commendations by many of the same idiots the GOP slime machine pulled out of the muck to smear him. The Swifties were ALL wrong; John O'Neill, the chief liar among them, even admitted disappointment at the lack of anything substantiating the scuzzola he tried to stir up. If you want to slam Kerry, attack his timidity as a politician, or his anti-gay nonsense, but his war records have given his critics zero to work with. The same cannot be said of the former cokehead president, who still has never answered sufficiently why he went AWOL in Texas or why he never satisfied his required military duties in Boston.
