Spokane area Veteran Jody Caldarulo begins his walk across America on Thursday April 1st, when he leaves San Francisco and begins his walk east going across the Golden Gate Bridge. Jody is doing this to help bring attention to the Veterans plight. He says because of unprecendented budget defecits Vet's rights and affairs are under attack. Jody is a Vietnam war veteran who was wounded in action and received the purple heart in 1969. Shortly there after he became active in the anti-war activities in and around the San Francisco Bay Area.
With luck, Jody arrives in Washington D.C. around November 2nd, or election day. Jody hopes to meetup with any Veterans on his walk across the country, where they will be able to join him in his walk as well. He left Spokane this past weekend, where he walked from downtown to the airport and caught a plan to S.F.
Jody feels its more imperative than ever before that Veterans become involved in government and this years Presidential election.

Best wishes to this guy!

Perhaps he can bring greater attention to the steady decrease and cuts in veterans' benefits that have occurred over the last four years, and help put another veteran and war hero in the White House.

Remember what Sir AWOL said to veterans a few days before
the (s)election: "Help is on the way."
