WOW, cool story . I hope he gives it a shot. I can't remember for sure, but doesn't he have a gay son? I swear I read that he was attending his son's commitment ceremony back in the 90's. Maybe I'm crazy, I'll do some research and get back on this one.

Oh, and one other note, he has said that it is time for the military to end it's ban on Gays.
Lastly, I always thought he was pretty sexy, loved watching his commentaries durring the war.

He doesn't have a prayer of getting the Dems Presidential nod-too far behind timewise. However,on the surface,he sounds like an excellent choice for a running mate, particularly on a Kerry ticket. Two bona fide war heroes vs George Bush Fighter Pilot-could be interesting.

I like Clark, he's more viable, not to mention, electable than the others for me. Unfortuntely, barring a scandal, I don't see Junior getting beat. Shouls he get the nomination, I think Clark could make it close if he called Junior on his stratagies for Iraq during a national debate. I think Rumsfeld would have to coach him pretty hard on that.

Seems very progressive for a military guy. Be interesting to see anyone try to stick the "liberal pansy" label to him.

He sure sounds like a Democrat though, doesn't he. This man is highly qualified, and if he decided to run on the Dem ticket it would be hard for the right-wing to attack him on their mantra for other Demos, namely that they are "soft" on defense, and/or homeland security, which is alot of bunk! wink

I saw Clark being interviewed by Tim Russert last Sunday and I really think that he would be an excellent candidate, no matter what party he represents.
I think he would be an excellent running mate for any of the candidates. I have yet to be excited about any of the major candidates yet... but I think there are too many hats in the ring. I think the Democrats need to cut down the number of people and get some focus behind a few of them so that it isn't so clouded.
I am hopeful, but not expecting a win in 2004- I think that the candidates need to find a way to make "I Believe..." a sort of theme. They need to rally people to believe in them again.

On Salon, he admits to being a liberal, and says he's one because of the way he was reared in Arkansas, to think about everyone in society, not just the folks at the top or those who already have something. IT appears he's angling for a VP bid; with Kerry, or Dean, or Graham, or Gephardt, he'd be a formidable running mate. He conceivably could help the Democrats not only solidify their support in the states Gore won--don't forget, Al only need FOUR electoral votes to win the whole thing--but he coudl help them pick up Arkansas, New Hampshire, possibly West Virginia, and maybe even Missouri. He'd be uniquely primed to challenge the passel of lies W would try to toss out against the Demos; they've got to do something smart and innoculatory, because W & Co, Ltd. are gunning to raise a $200 million warchest even without any intraparty opposition!

He seems like a viable alternative to the 9 clowns that are presently running.I would need to find out more about his positions before I would vote for him. I also have a concern about voting for someone from the military. Those skills are not always transferrable. For proof of this, look at the awful performance of our current Secretary of State.
