Full Version: Condoms cause mental disorders!

Ms. de Blazer
Didn't you know that?
According to the Department of Public Health at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, that is one of the things being taught in the "abstinence only" no-sex education in Ohio public schools.
Aside from "learning" that condoms cause mental disorders, students are also taught:
HIV can hide in the blood stream, undetected by any test, for 10 years
HIV can be spread through kissing as well as sweat and tears (so if Magic Johnson plays a pick-up game of basketball and then embraces another player...)
Birth control causes permanent infertility
It is God's plan for people to be sexually abstinent followed by monogamous heterosexual marriage
The first 3, like the condoms, are demonstrably false. The last is not subject to verification by definition.
Can schools teach what is known to be absolutely false?
Yes
When the bill to fund only "abstinence only" no-sex education was before Congress, a Republican Congresswoman who is also a nurse offered an amendment that information must be medically accurate. The amendment was defeated. So there is absolutely nothing that prevents schools from requiring that teachers teach lies.

Does it say anything about "cooties?"

Condoms can be part of a pathogenesis that causes brain damage. It is possible.

Hmm, possible...but probably not plausible. Very disturbing news however you look at it.

So do you think that when all the right-wing nut jobs start dying of AIDS due to unprotected closeted homosexual activity, do you think we'll see an increased interest in finding a cure for AIDS? Nah, they'll just say it was God's will, no matter what the cost.

I LMAO all day yesterday after reading this article over breakfast. In light of posts on other threads, is penis envy again rearing its ugly head? The lines about wonder and amazement are especially provocative. What's next, herms along the interstates?

In all seriousness though, I'd like to know where this idea that women exist to praise and honor men, who are deemed incompetent without their admiration, comes from, since it's equally sexist and demeaning to both men and women. I ask because I heard a Lutheran minister admonish my cousin to do so during her wedding service back around 1980 or so, leading me to think it's been around for a while. Of course I know about the legal strictures that existed against women owning property, voting and other worldly matters for centuries, but from where does this idea that men require constant adoration in order to survive arise? Not that any of the guys I've known or dated over my lifetime ever fell into this category; some of them had confidence - read, attitude - enough to sustain TWO egos!

I was thinking along the lines of a bad diet and a latex allergy. Also if you misused one as chewing gum (cone heads). You could inadvertantly choke and cut off the oxygen to your brain, hence dain bramage. biggrin.gif

So these folks are taking money away from legitimate social programs like eductaion. Wow, like Haliburton hasn't milked the public tax money bull out of billions? Hop on the George W. Bush train and slap his ass as you watch the screwing of America climax. "All Aboard", out on DVD now! Each copy comes with an autographed photo of a corrupt right wing figure head, signed plastic American flag for your vehicle (note the size of the petroleum sticker flag is big enough to obstruct your vision of what is coming down the road ahead or behind you), and a special director's cut of W. squealing like a pig in the Skull & Bones clubhouse at Yale during his cheer leading years. The Condaleeza Rice version comes with some hot female action involving Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter. "All Aboard II" shows George W. Bush as a mature stud laying the pipe from Iraq, all the way through Afghanistan to Germany. See W's love affair with power and elitism as he takes his good ol' boys along on his international orgy. Simply hot as Chaney Dicks business ethics and civil rights of broads abroad...

Sorry is the parallel doesn't work for you. I'll have to start praying that those condoms do not make me go blind. They have already damaged my brain and cuased me to sleep with men biggrin.gif

This part of the article is what kills me:

With 47 percent of high school students saying they've had sex, according to federal statistics, there's naturally a debate over whether it's more effective to use abstinence programs or more comprehensive sex education.

"If you accept this funding – my tax dollars and yours – you can only teach these principles," said Jerald Newberry, executive director of the National Education Association's Health Information Network. "That puts these young Americans at risk because they are more ignorant about relationships, sexually transmitted diseases, prevention and protection."

So it goes back to the virginity or death philosophy of the RR. As for women, I guess they will have to design a Christian veil for them.

Apparently they are unable to make to correlation between lack of sex ed in the US, high rate of teen sexual activity, and the US having about the highest rates of teen pregnancy etc in the developed world.
