The Washington Deadskins are
pushing legislation in the Virginia legislature that would limit how much the team would have to pay in workers' compensation to injured players. Snyder et al believe that players should be exempt because-- unlike other covered employees --they are almost certain to be injured in their work.
Supporters of the bill in the legislature claim that workers' compensation was meant as a safety net for the less fortunate -- not millionaire NFL players who are "overfed, overpaid and underworked."

I am not at all a Dan Snyder fan. It is hard for me to have any sympathy for him. It sounds like, to me, that he is now trying to pinch pennies after his many higly financed and poor management decisions have yielded zero results. The latest one being Brad Johnson, taking his new team to the Super Bowl. Maybe this penny pinching on the part of Snyder, is in preparation for next year when he will have to pay off Spurrier, so yet another coach can be hired. The saga continues.
