Okay, maybe I'm a bit rusty on the latest gay jargon but I DO NOT get the Cheeky cartoon currently in the "The Outfield".

What the heck is it in gay-speak that sounds like rugger...?

signed - Clueless
swiminbuff
how about "bugger"
HotlantaTarheel
....and its still not funny.
Joe in Philly
My first thought was that it was "rubber." Maybe "bugger" is more of what the cartoonist was thinking. Either way, it was sort of amusing, in my view.
chuckvanc
Okay, that REALLY ANNOYING banner ad with the cockroaches... What did they pay you to post that, and was it worth it????? I mean, really, I don't want to watch that shit.
Cyd at Outsports
I didn't get the cartoon, either. I'm told it is supposed to be "bugger," which is some reference to intercourse.

This site remains free because of the financial generosity of members of this site and the advertisements we run. We like to think that a cockroach running across your screen is little to ask to keep this site free for all.
Puschkin
I'm sure the cartoon is referring to "bugger." "bugger is a Britishism for anal intercourse.
sportinlife
"Bugger" it is then, I suppose.

Love his drawings. They remind me of a mural of two male teenage comic strip characters that I saw on a wall in the gay area of Brussels, striding with each others arm around the shoulder of the other.

Can't remember the names of the characters, but I always, always thought of them as being gay.

Ironically it was right next to an old catholic cathedral celebrating a special Christmas mass that was being televised. The cameraman was easily cute enough to be one of the comic strip characters.

As long as the cockroaches are confined to the little square of the banner ad and not the rest of the screen. The ads that suddenly appear and block out much of what you're trying to read are even more annoying.

I haven't seen this so-called cockroach ad. Am I missing something?

I did see a new ad for "a new site dedicated to what you've got in your pants." eek! How do they know what I've got in my pants? biggrin.gif

There is a banner ad on the discussion board that is trying to open my Adobe Acrobat, but something is stopping it because I get an error box for "Acrobat plug-in" saying "this operation is not allowed." The ad never shows up but at the bottom of the browser window it says "transferring data from ad.yieldmanager.com..."

Maybe you should check your pants for that cockroach - alien style intrusion alert. ohmy.gif
KeyWest Guy
I'm excited to see two ads from Key West on the front page! And one is from the TDC which is the county-run tourist development agency in the Florida Keys. It's cool living in a place that not only likes its 'mos but actually advertises for more! biggrin.gif

For a second I thought NBC was advertising on Outsports, but then clicked the link to find that the AVP pro beach volleyball series is advertising on Outsports. Cool.
canmark
Thanks for the article on the AVP's decision to advertise on Outsports. It's nice to hear that the sports world is paying attention to this site and its community.

Maybe if the NHL ever starts up again they'll consider advertising on Outsports.com, too. They're going to need all the help they can get to recruit fans. rolleyes.gif

I got no problems with the Logo guy lying on his back (although the more I look at him, the smugger he looks). Things could be far far worse.
