That AFC East just might be up for grabbs now.
Harrison gone from the Pats, plus the loss of the LB's. Then the OL going down (not sure what his status will be). Battered D and battered OL.. spells doom.
Is Miami the new favorite?

They handled Pittsburgh pretty well on Sunday. I'd still keep the Pats as favorites.

Buffalo screwed the pooch when they went with an unproven rookie at QB. They have a great defense, a solid running game, but don't have the leader it takes to conquer that division.
Edited to add - The defense has talent to be great (like last year) but has underachieved somewhat this year. The loss of Spikes is a huge blow. Losman can't hit Lake Erie - and last week Atlanta was without it's top 3 DB's much of the game. Not a good sign. Buffalo (especially the D) beefed up the second half of last year on poor competition and because of that expectations were too high coming in.

No doubt NE and Pittsburgh are tougher, but Mularkey (I'm sure I'm not spelling that right), had them in the running for the playoffs last year, unexpectedly.
As far as I'm concerned, anybody but NE...enough already.

The heart of the buffalo D was carted off the field on sunday.
They are done.
At some point in time injuries will catch up with teams... NE is going to play a WR in the secondary for 13 more weeks? You can't do that.
You can only plug so many rookies on the OL before even brady is laying on his back.
Coming up with a gameplan to beat Pitt in one thing, going through 13 more weeks with a patchwork team is another.

Spikes is the heart of that D, everything ran through him... Buffalo has to change their entire D to compensate for his loss.
Add a rookie QB...

With Chad Pennington out for the year, and backup Jay Fiedler also out for Saturday, the Jets will start third stringer Brooks Bollinger on Sunday against Baltimore.
Vinny Testaverde will be the backup for the game.
Maybe the Jets will also have to consider signing Ken O'Brien and Richard Todd as well.

Well then you know a heck of alot more than the 31 other scouts in the NFL. Given his youth and the quality QB shortage in the NFL, if had even an iota of potential, I can't imagine he'd still be unemployed. As far as I know, he's not even going to NFL Europe or the Arena League or the CFL.
It's a bit mysterious that he just disappeared so quickly and completely. Seems as if there is something more to this story.

Not a chance Buffalo makes the playoff in the uber-competitive AFC if Losman plays at the level he has played at, with or without Spikes.
There are too many better in teams in front of Buffalo competing for the playoff spots - New England, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Denver, San Diego.

Well the game I've been waiting for this year Bolts-Pats, and now the Pats have questions again in the defense, with Harrison out for the season. This could be bigger than the LB's gone cause it seems like the DB's could be in disarray without their leader. Eugene Wilson will need to step up and be the leader of teh secondary, and overall Vrabel and McGinest will become the overall D leaders with Seymour taking on more of a role.
That being said, I think New England is going to be in a lot more shootouts this year, with the offense having to pick up for the defense while they figure things out. I foresee some shootouts in the Patriots future. Quite ironic that Indy is starting to flex some defensive muscle and the Pats might have to use the offense to win some games.
With the way San Diego was firing on all cylinders last week offensively I think this one's gonna be a game with both in the 30's, with the deciding factor who can make the plays in the red zone. I think there's one other things that the Bolts like in their favor, the last meeting. NE had won their first SB and the media was starting to say that this team could not be beat. But LaDainian Tomlinson pretty much showed they could, which was the game where SD and the NFL knew that he was going to be a special one. LT had over 200 yds and the Bolts won 21-14. Beating the Pats during this 4+ season run takes some of the mystique out of NE being unbeatable. They're not used to getting beaten repeatedly like Pitts, Indy, Jets or other teams.
I am bummed about no Harrison for the Pats tho. When they got rid of Junior and him, I was more PO'd about Rodney being sent away.

I left this alone for long enough(lol). Tell everyone about this. If I remember the conversation went like this...
PF was talking about how the Bucs cannot stop the run. I didnt disagree, however I did state the Bucs do use different scheme's, sometimes bringing in the corners like Barber and alot of times that it does catch RBs in the backfield. Anyone who knows, and can have a legitimate opinion of Monte Kiffin's defense, knows that it is not just simply black and white a CB blitz. You can still mock me and say it though, I have taken it this long. One just has to consider the source! wink
Hey PF, CU tell you any good Indian jokes lately? Or from he looks of his name has he switched to jokes about women?

Ken-boy, You shall never live down the CB blitz to stop the run! Why? Because the cover two is not specifically designed to be an "in your face" type of defense.
Never confuse that with the one time you saw Barber blitz while someone was running a draw play.
However, CU was just simply "trying" to get someone who posted car pictures in about 10 threads to defend his team.
Hopefully, Cyd can delete a few of those posts so my fonts and screen sizes arent all messed up fromt he pretty pictures.

So, here are some other topics we can discuss:
1) Will shottenheimer actually let LT continue to get a hand on the football, or will he forget about him again?
2) How epic will the implosion of the Lions be this week and which side will suck more: the "O-line of made of kittens" offense or the "bitch slap in your general direction vs. actually blitz you" defense?
3) How much will Favre suck?

The point of the posts was trying to get a singular person to acknowledge a fact. That person is not Joe. This should be plain to you by reading through the thread. I knew the answer to the question.
Oh wait, I forgot, we have board favorites and the rest of us. Two sets of rules for conduct. Maybe you should create a "preferred list", or maybe just route all the posts through Joe for his approval before they're posted to the board?

Sounds like you're trying to provoke a fight, not talk about football, which is what I've done throughout this thread. Wanna talk about football, Kenny? Let's talk football:
Tampa, who has beaten opponents with a combined 2-7 record and stand undefeated play the 1-1 Lions (their lone win over a team which has not won a game) this Sunday. Will this be a test?
How much longer can they give the ball 30 times to a rookie back? Through three games, Williams has rushed the ball 88 times. That projects out to 469 carries for a guy who received just 239 carries last year at Auburn.
Do Bucs rank No. 1 in overall defense because they are truly the number one defense or because they have they played some of the league's worst offenses?
Really interested in hearing your analysis. Remember, we're here to talk football.
