Tys is at 114 Christopher Street between Hudson and Bleeker Street. The Hangar is right across the street.

Tys is always fun. Wound up there for Game 5 of the ALDS last year, just in time to see the A's choke once again. Nice place, good people.
I have been to Tys- I like it - It seems to have normal, older 30 & up guys - most are the flannel shirt & ballcap crowd. The Hangar was fun - it had a younger louder dancing crowd. Also have been to a basement show-tunes singalong place in the same general area but I can't remember the name. That last one was a couple years ago - so maybe its gone. I also have been to the Townhouse(is that the name?) which is on the east side inb the 50s I believe. All show tunes all the time - also at mid 40s I was a youngster- Its mostly old queens dressed up in jacket & tie singing show tunes. Tys, though small- is still your best bet- IMHO.

Officer,

You're thinking of either "Marie's Crisis" or "Rose's Turn." Both of them are on Grove Street, between Bleecker and Seventh. Both are piano bars which will be full of bridge-and-tunnel heteros until midnight or later, when the more local, gayer crowd takes over.

(Or, if it were years ago, you might have been at Eighty-Eights, on 10th Street.)
