Space Invaders is making a comeback. The company that made in 1978 is re-releasing the arcade game in the original format.
Slate wrote a great article about it,
right here. You can also play the 80's arcade games
here. Enjoy!!

I'm glad that you find it cool. I was quoted a few months ago in USA Today.com about the classics now being played online as they appeared many moons ago.

I totally dig Space Invaders, the Pac Family (Man and Ms.), Centipede, Donkey Kong, Frogger, and Galaga. There's a device you can buy at Target etc. that you can hook up to your TV and it has several of these games, I think SI, Pong maybe, others.

My cousins and I had a blast playing Donkey Kong all during our family Christmas Eve party. High score for me was 42,800

Unless you've got a roller controller, you'll can't recreate the simple genius that was
Marble Madness. This game RULED!

So have nay of you bought those Atari game controllers yet with the retro games? I still think the games from the 80s are more fun (or "funner", how I use to say it) than the video games now. It's so easy and I don't have to learn some dumb history about they were burned by their mother's death and need to avenge some pizza place or whatever.

Anyway ...
A great article about retro video games!

God, the memories! Thanks Allen! Space Invaders and Ms.Pac-Man were my all time favorites. Others are Centipede,Outlaw, Missile Command, and Defender. The games in the 80s were cool too. Super Mario Brothers, Gauntlet, Golden Axe are just a few to name. I think the games were interesting up to the late 90s. Gaunlet Legends, Mortal Kombat, and Street Fighter were interesting. Now with today's games, it's all lost on me. I love the retro games!

No problem! I remember when I was REALLY little and I played Tron - the arcade game at the local 7-11. For a four year old, the game was easy!

Hey! I thought I was the only one who played "Tron!" Glad to know someone else did.
Easiest of the Tron games was blasting through the blocks to get to the escape cone. Let's see, then there was destroying the spiders, the laser bike race, and I forget the fourth game...

My favorites were Ms. Pac-Man (so much cooler than regular Pac Man, although I don't know why ... musta been the pink bow), Donkey Kong Jr., Q-Bert, and YES Marble Madness ruled.

If I recall, in Ms. Pac Man the grid changed after every couple of levels. I don't think that happened with regular Pac Man. Plus you got the bonus points for those various food items. It was always strangely interesting to see Ms. Pac Man swallow the banana. wink

Whoever's going to plan the next Outsports Convention could arrange for Arcade night instead of this year's karaoke night. wink

If we do, the 80's arcade games. They are more fun and no plot. Kinda like some of the politic and religion topics.
