Just Like the NFL, Parity rules in the two unofficial Outsports Fantasy Football Leagues in Yahoo.

Out of the 32 teams, only 5 remain undefeated. Even more encouraging, is that only 3 teams have yet to savor the joy of winning.

Unfortunately, many of the participants Yahoo log in names don't match their OUTSPORTS names (or maybe in some cases fortunately lol) but here are the early leaders in your Fantasy Football Leagues.

Early Studs (undefeated)

League #1
Pack Attackers-Jon Milw
GlenDale Daggers-MSarzo (Destiny Rules)
Daves Degreasers-La_Meatman

League #2
Dime Package-faydman
Kenwoodies-ruiz95134

Best Trade:
Kyle Boller for Stephen Davis

Most Creative Team Name
Kammaniwannalaya

# of Player Personal Changes (combined leagues)
247

Interesting note: League 2, which I seem to have become a hot bottom, with my 1-2 record, Has only 2 undefeated teams, and all teams have at least one win.

Note to Fantasy Players: I did notice a couple teams forgot to remove bye week players from their active rosters, costing them a possible win last week. Remember, players on your bench DO NOT COUNT towards you weekly point total. Players must be in your active line-up in order for them to compete.

I hope you are enjoying the leagues. I'm sure impressed with the knowledge as well as the competive spirit of the OUTSPORTS community!

I beat an (previously) undefeated! YAY! smile.gif

In case anyone cares (which they probably don't), I'm coach of the wonderfully delicious Backfields in Motion tongue.gif

But ... I'm prepared to lose horribly... 4 of my starters have byes this week.

Those three wins for the Daggers have come by a total of 4.2 points. I nominate my team for the Cardiac Kids award. hehe

I noticed in league #2, we had a draw this week... has that happened in league #1?

In the great tradition of parity in Outsports Yahoo! Fantasy Football, the Week One game between the Glenn Dale Daggers and the Dallas Swampbeasts originally ended in a 41.8-41.8 draw, but a scoring change turned the result into a one point victory for the Daggers.

Yes, it's been THAT competitive.

I picked up a Win this week....that gives me one more victory than my hometown Bengals! Woo Hoo, maybe I can give this city something to cheer about?

On the Wednesday following the Week One games, the NFL and the Elias Sports Bureau determined that a sack credited to the Baltimore defense on Pittsburgh's Antwaan Randle-El was a rushing attempt, and the point for the sack was taken away. That one point turned the tie into a Daggers win and a Dallas Swampbeasts loss.

That's KAMANAWANALAYA! Yes, that is my team.
I was also one who forgot to go into my roster & change out the bye players. D'oh! It probably cost me the victory over those trash talkin' WildCard bastards.

Oh well, there will be no interviews with the Kamana's because they are all being punished at the moment...especiall Kamanawanalaya QB's Tom Brady & Jake Plummer. They are getting...uh..."personal" attention from this owner. heh heh heh. Kamana..wana...laya

Finally, the Glenn Dale Daggers can breathe a little more easily.

After winning its first three games by a total of four points, the Daggers steamrolled the Soggy Bottom Boys 97-29 in front of a packed house of 71,344 at Eastgate Field in Glenn Dale, MD.

Quarterback David Carr shined in his Daggers debut, passing for one touchdown and running for another, while wide reciever Marvin Harrison was "outstanding," Daggers Coach Mike Sarzo said.

"Marvin finally had that breakout game we've been waiting for," Sarzo said. "We also got [running back Troy] Hambrick some touches and Carr played as well as we expected him to. What you saw was what we thought we were capable of doing all season."

"That was an old-fashioned butt-whipping," the Soggy Bottom Boys coach said. "[The Daggers] opened up a can of whoop ass on us."

Sarzo "played a hunch," by sitting quarterback Aaron Brooks, and the hunch paid off for the Daggers, who start the season 4-0 for the first time in franchise history. In the process, the Daggers set a club record for most points and widest margin of victory.

"It was great to be part of a win," Carr said. "Coach told me before the season to get ready for each game as if I was going to be the starter, and it paid off."

The Soggy Bottom Boys (2-2) take on the Pewter Pirates (1-3), while the Daggers battle the Bearbackers (3-1).

Week 4 fantasy highlights...

Well, several lofty teams got knocked off the unbeaten list.

League #1 still has 2...congrats to Pack_Attackers and Glendale Daggers for continued success.

League #2 has the "dime package" all alone as the sole undefeated team.

Only one team, name witheld outta courtesy, has yet to savor a victory.

Parity still is the word here. 61% of all games last week were decided by a touchdown or less. A combined 62 roster changes were made, demonstrating the high activity, and the will to win from the Outsports community!

Reminder to partcipants...with games so close each week, smart to keep looking at FA's, for hot pick-ups, that can improve your team. Especially, players that are replacing Stars...sometimes they turn into them themselves, so keep an eye out!
bujeff23
I have the most points in league 1 but yet 1-3 record. lol

Love Openly Gator
Boltergeist
in the EVERY YARD COUNTS column, I have just lost a game by 0.2 points in league 1 .... I had 3 starters with these stats

Moulds 99 yards rec
Tim Brown 39 yards rec
Tomlinson 38 yards rush
RCKSoniK
yeah I had Moulds also, and also Garner who was just 8 yards short of 100, Gannon played like crap though, my whole team did this week besides those 2 and the Dolphins D

Week 5 highlight for league 2 (other than my team won again, and is in second place)

The remaining undefeated team as of last week got totally spankulated this week smile.gif
la_meatman
First off, down to ONE undefeated team in Fantasy Football in yahoo.

The Pack Attackers in league #1...the unblemished team remaining.

Once again the majority of the games were very close, and one was decided by a single pass completion!

12/16 teams are within 2 games of playoff postion, but with 9 weeks left til playoffs, everyone in contention.

Over in league 2...Its a free for all! 4 teams with just one loss, and 14 teams within 2 games of playoff berths.

26 teams in both leagues made roster moves last weeks. Very competive, and some brilliant football minds here!

Hope you are enjoying, fantasy basketball is up for the hoops fans, posted in the basketball thread too!

This just in!

I'm number 1! I'm number 1!

That is all. You may resume whatever you were doing before. Or not. Whatever makes you happy.
Boltergeist
so how are both the leagues doing ... my Boltboys have made a 2nd half recovery from 2-5 to get back to .500 and 8th place (3rd overall in scoring). If only we had a 15-game regular season, I'd have a shot at the Top 4, but now need a miracle.

Demonstrating that every yard matters, I missed the OFFLII's playoffs by ONE FREAKIN' POINT!. It was a mad scramble for that final playoff spot with 5-6 teams vying for the last 2 spots going into the final "regular season" games. I was in 12th place going into the final game needing help from almost all the other teams. I almost made it. Every team that I needed to lose lost....except for one team. It came down to the Cleveland/St Louis game on Monday. DAMN MARSHALL FAULK and DAMN THE BROWNS DEFENSE for allowing Faulk enough yardage to give him 15 pts. That gave, I think it was the Protein Smoothies, the final spot in the playoffs. One stinkin' point!!! aaaaaargh. Now all I'm left with is "If I had only would have xxx in week xxx."

On a bright note, the Kamanawanalaya Marching Band kicked the Ass Bandit's "Marching" Band all over the field. They kicked them off the field, They kicked them in the bathrooms, they kicked their Ass Bandit's ass all the way back to DC!!! wink We're #9! We're #9! We're #9!.

Good luck to the remaining teams in the playoffs. Damn BCS. Damn polls. We got screwed. Whoops, wrong thread.
GatorJamie
Congrats to Team Kamanawanalaya and playoff contenders.

My lesson for next year: you are not Dan Snyder!

Lesson #2: Just because Chad Pennington has a broken hand in preseason does not mean he'll be out all year! Q. Carter and Doug Johnson were lame-a** subs!

See y'all next year. I'm taking my UnderArmour-sponsored studs back to training camp.

In OFFLI, my Boltboys finished 8-6 (recovering VERY nicely from 2-5) losing to the top 2 teams by one late Favre interception to the Glenn Dale Daggers, and by .2 to the Dallas BIGG NUTZ with 3 guys 1-2 yards away from gaining another point. Reverse them 2 results and I'm the #1 seed. Weeks 11-13 I beat the 3rd, 4th, and 5th place teams, ALL by over 20.

Here's another every point matters.

In OFFLII, I'm in first place by only 1 point. How I managed it, I don't know... My team got their collective ass kicked as bad as oklahoma did, but by the magical ranking system, I'm in 1st place by 1 point.

Too bad that doesn't mean I automatically get to play in the championship game... tongue.gif
Sport_13
Closed the Regular season with 5 Wins, and finished in 5th place 1 game out of first, tight league...My team did score the most points in the league, but none of that matters now...just hope I stay hot! Best of luck to everyone...

Go Bengals! LOL Who'd have thought they'd have 7 wins in one year! WOW!
Kenny
Thanks ASSBANDITS for keeping me out of last place! rolleyes.gif
la_meatman
Well so much for HOME Field advantage! The ole commish outcoached himself out of the playoffs in FF1...thanks to his brilliance in removing Hassleback not just the week he tosses for FIVE td's, but also the following week when he throws for 3 more!...Damn Trent Green!

In league 2...well they just said the heck w/lube and slammed me to death!~

Gotta admit, you guys do know your football! Gluck to the playoff teams!

Thank god 1/2 of you stayed away from Basketball! Hopefully I can get some redemption from my FIRST place team there! rolleyes.gif

Cya in Baseball I hope!

Congratulations to the Glenn Dale Daggers for winning league 1's title 78-65 over Team Trixie.

Meanwhile my Indiana Boltboys are left to wonder "what if" after winning the consolation title over the Pack Attackers 127-83. I feel like USC right now.

Congrats Daggers!

Seems only fitting the most creative owner, won the league.

All I can say is

Congrats and wait til next year!

Fortunately, Baseball is just around the corner (which i totally blow at)

Thanks guys. This was a fun season. I had to be at the top of my game to beat you guys. I look forward to defending the title.

As for baseball, it's been a while since I've been in a dugout so I think I may be coming out of retirement to manage the Glenn Dale Guardians. smile.gif

Championship is this week in league 2...between gaymansbestfriend and Backfields in Motion.

League settings were a bit different in that league, although i meant for it to be over in week 16 (as many star players don't play week 17)

I'll give you a hint... it wasn't Backfields in Motion... thanks to my crappy friggin quarterback who threw 3 INTs and was promptly taken out of the game. I mean, I couldn't win against a team with no active WRs! wtf? I tell ya what, Brad Johnson's sleeping on the couch for quite a while!

gaymansbestfriend beat my sorry ass team 53-44

Garrr!

It's amazing that a team owner that NEVER changed his line-up from week 1 and finsihed the regular season 7-7, ended up winning the OFFL2 Championship. He did have Priest Holmes so I guess Priest should be voted MVP of League 2? Plus he had Jay Fiedler as his starting QB the entire season and STILL won the championship.

Wow. The champs in OLLF2 never changed their lineup and finished the regular season 7-7. The Pack Attackers didn't make it to the championship bracket with a 9-5 mark. I must have set a league record with nearly twice as many transactions as the next team. I was often changing my lineup right before kickoff. BTW, the top four teams (the championship bracket in League 1) all finished the regular season 10-4.

dang, our inactive team was in 14th or 15th place, and 53-44 for a final this week I woulda had AT LEAST 53 from LT, Gary Anderson, and the Packers D alone.
