I've also got an endowment problem/blessing that I must deal with...regular boxers leave me falling out of my shorts, and God forbid I become aroused...the whole world knows it! My boys need to be secure, but not smothered.
Alas, someone who knows what I was talking about and can relate! I've always been hopelessly shy about my problem/blessing...in particular when I'm aroused.

2xist tight whites by day, boxers or nothing for sleep duty. Nothing like a hot ass in a pair of tight whites!

Either Jockey briefs (can't find the ones I like anymore). So now it's Target brand boxer briefs. Preferably Gray or in Black.

Wow, talk about a bump.
Anyway, I usually wear fairly short-cut boxer-briefs. For most sports I wear compression shorts now except for rowing where you really don't want anything at all under. Back in highschool I ususally went comando for football and wrestling and for track I just wore fairly snug boxer-briefs.
I really don't like boxers and never have. They shift and chaff and generally just are not comfortable.

Either boxer briefs, trunks or regular and low rise briefs (Papi and Diesel). They're in the range of about $25 a pair but I have an ample behind so I want something with super soft fabric which fits snugly and at the same time is good at stretching. I just can't get with plain boxers. I like things to be in place down there.
The only time I go commando is at night in bed. For those that go commando during the day in shorts and jeans and suits, etc...god bless you. I can only do it under sweat pants or nylon running pants, and only then when I'm running a quick errand and will be returning immediately to the house.

Boxers for me...after years of briefs I took the plunge!! Boxers do take a while to get used to, but I love em now.

Depends on my mood, for work it's usually white briefs for work with slacks, jockstrap for the gym or running (or sometimes with loose jeans Home Depot

boxer briefs when I'm running around getting things done.

Boxer-briefs here. Like the support and coverage, and they're great at the gym under my workout shorts. Make my legs look good too! :-)

They are much more comfortable than jocks and I think give about as much support.
I disagree. While compresion shorts will keep your boys from boucing all over to a greater extent then boxers, nothing beats the support of a jock. Additionally, I think jocks give you a bit greater feeling of mobility than compresion shorts (granted, compression shorts are a little more comfy). The WORST however, are these freaking compression shorts they are now making with a "cup pocket." I have tried a few of these for karate and softball and I swear, they were designed by women or something. Horrid. Cup is not secure, bounces all over, and never stay in place.

Depends on what I'm wearimg or doing - briefs, boxers, boxer briefs or nothing at all. in bed definitely nothing at all.

I can't wear boxers: no support - can't have everything bouncing around, it's embarassing.
I've become dedicated to 2 (x) briefs and boxer briefs...everything stays wrapped up and in place..and they're comfortable, don't shrink, and feel good against the skin..

I'm with you Bryan, I only wear 2 (xist) briefs and trunks. They also help enhance your package ... or so I hear back on topic 2(xist) and nothing in bed.

I've begun wearing boxers. After years of wearing briefs and boxer/briefs. It's definitely different and may take some getting used to.

I'm a briefs man all the way, in bed and out. Boxers just don't do it for me, and boxer-briefs are the worst of both worlds. And I'm not about to try going commando -- not at my age.

Life in general: briefs. Working out: jock or compression shorts. Sleep: commando.
Comfort trumps all other considerations.

i got tree trunk legs so briefs are out of the question... i stick with mainly athletic (UA) boxer briefs, but for texas summers = baggy shorts and baggy boxers, for air flow or just mesh shorts.

Exactly why I never liked boxers. All that material bunching up under my jeans made comfort impossible.

Boxer briefs and briefs for me! Like to keep the boys close by me!
Commando when I want to give a guy a special surprise!!! None have recoiled in horror (yet)!!
Compression shorts and jocks for working out and running.
But I still love to wear pajama bottoms when sleeping.

Just saw this on the Fast Company website: Aussiebum has created underwear made partly of banana fiber. Their ad shows a guy holding a big bunch of bananas.
Yummy!
Just for you guys, I have been conducting "research" at the gym on this very question. Science is a cruel mistress I know.

Sometimes I find it hilarious when I see guys in their 60s and 70s in boxer briefs. Just seems wrong! It is a rare sighting to see tighty-whities in the gym altho I wear them when laundry is piling up. Guys in their 20s with nice bodies (and the egos to match) are wearing very tight boxer-briefs, the trunk variety quite often. Most 20somethings wear the FTL or Hanes boxers with the elastic(?) waistband. These days seems like evryone is wearing UnderArmour boxer-briefs to work out in (as do I). I swear is there is a certain type of guy who wears traditional boxers -- relaxed, usually slender and more often attitude-free even if they have nice bods. By my extensive studies, these guys usually have runner's builds.
I have a jockstrap fetish but I rarely wear them to the gym. Seems as if only guys over 60 wear them...at least to work out in.
I am a former cyclist, with the huge thighs that comes from that. Many styles of boxer-briefs don't give me enough leg space to be able to pull them up - always feels like they are falling down. I like to wear boxers around the house. If I take a late shower and am staying home, I usually put on an old pair of boxers. I am wearing FTL boxer-briefs alot - they are giving me the leg room (thigh room?) I need but I find they don't last very long. CK boxer-briefs are usually quite uncomfortable for me altho I have one pair of their sports (nylon) bxr-briefs that I wear to work out in when the UA is in the laundry. I like them very much. Some of the cheaper bxr-briefs I've tried bunch up on me though. My bf and I have a drawer full of briefs (CK) and I've laid down the law: no new underwear. Just wear the damn briefs!
I sleep naked unless I am staying somewhere (like my Dad's house). My bf wears PJs in the winter - he has a low body temp.
Okay, so I have a bit of an obsession.

Obsession? All in the name of scientific research. We at the Outsports Discussion Board (hereafter the ODB) salute your diligence.
I wear a jockstrap at the gym, and I'm not 60. Well, yet.
