Boxer-briefs usually -- I get the support (and yes, I need it ) without the chafing of tighty-whities, which I wore for years.

Unless I've put off doing laundry too long ... then anything that's still clean. eek!

Like danimal, I must say I need and appreciate extra support down there, lest something go snaking down my pants leg. My favorite is an athletic brief from Structure (now Express Men), which they no longer make. Luckily I bought 8 or 10 pair a few years ago. I've tried boxer briefs, but it seems like "things" still manage to work their way down my pant leg, and the boxer brief makes it get stuck there. I like to be supported either straight down or straight up.

Like them all, and alot depends on what I'm wearing. With jeans I like briefs, which put everything in place or if I need more room, boxers fit the bill. I really like the look and feel of white boxer briefs too.

I swim and sunbathe at a nearby isolated spot where there is, of course, a "gay" spot. Nudity is okay. When I pull off my shorts and guys see me in my jockstrap (which I also take off), I get alot of admiring looks. These days I only see straps at gay-populated gyms.

Hey, TC, I love to skinny dip, too. I did it a lot in the family pool and at a lake near my home back in Tennessee when I was in high school and college -- it feels so good. Since my mom sold the house when she knew I was gone from Tennessee for good, the pool is gone and she doesn't have one where she lives now, so I'm going to see if I can get a couple of friends together to get out to the lake for a skinny dip when I go back for a visit in Septmeber.

I love to wear Jock Straps, and have been known to wear them to sporting events while spectating, so I can feel like part of the action, and because they make my package look good. LOL. Boxers, almost exclusively. I only own a couple of pairs of briefs and rarely wear them. I like boxers with cool patterns or colors, or both. But briefs look sexy on other guys, especially if they are really built.

Bobcat, do you wear your jock with the cup or without? I sometimes think about wearing it with the cup and then it just sticks out so much that it's obvious I'm wearing a cup. I want to get that nice pouch without it being too obvious, you know?

Inspired by this thread, while I was at Target on Saturday I bought two new kinds of underwear - bikini briefs, and string bikini briefs. I like them both, but all I gotta say about the string bikinis is, where have you been all my life? I got some of the better quality ones (as much as anything bought at Target can qualify as "better quality"). They look kinda like a jock strap, but they have an ultra smooth cottony stretchy goodness that holds things in place with a minimum amount of fabric. I'll keep my old Struture athletic briefs, but for future purchases, it's string bikinis all the way, baby!

I buy my bikinis at K-Mart--can't go wrong with Joe Boxer!

Oh ya, and have you ever tried to take a leak with a cup on without being very obvious about the fact that you're wearing a cup? At hockey games, there is usually a lot of beer drank, and many trips to the Bathroom, so the cup is not feasable for that reason either. LOL

Boxer briefs get my vote. Although every other year my mom buys me undies for Xmas (mom's never change) so I always have the tighty whites if I run out of clean boxer briefs.

That's what I meant too -- the firm hold thing.

In bed, on the other hand (when I'm sleeping alone, which is most of the time), I prefer free movement. I started wearing boxers to bed when I wore tighty whities all day -- the pouch kind, which are like a jock but with a horizontal flap, which was half the reason I wore them (the upside-down-Y things on regular briefs are way too much hassle). Sleeping in those was like sleeping in a jock, so I switched to boxers.

This thread is kinda erotic. One of my favorite commercials, unfortunately they don't show it anymore, is the Hanes commercial where the two chicks sit down and guess if the guy is wearing boxers or briefs. I do it quite a lot with some of my friends.

As for me, during the week, boxer briefs.

At night, until recently, nothing. Recently, due to a colon cancer concern, and testing etc, I wear boxer briefs and sweat pants in case of bleeding.

After my surgery, it'll be back to nothing at night.

On weekends, boxers if it's out and about. If I go out to a bar, it'll be nothing, or a leather jock.

But NOT with the string up the middle like a thong. The last thing I want is to feel like I've got a wedgie all night. I mean a leather jock built like a normal jock strap. And if you leave your fly open by accident. It doesn't matter.

Commando means I wear no underwear at all.

I've started transitioning from boxer shorts to boxer briefs, mainly because I like to use the word "transition" as a verb, and I couldn't think of anything else to transition to (the VHS-DVD transition has gotten a bit boring).
