Sad news about Jim Kelly's 8-year old son. Jim was one of my favorite QBs. I always found him very classy, and loved his style of play, as well. Good thoughts go out to him and his family.....

Jim's Kelly's son dies of Krabbe Disease

Very sad. He always seemed to be a class act.

Born in 1997, Hunter Kelly was given no more than three years to live after being diagnosed with Krabbe disease, an inherited degenerative disorder of the central and peripheral nervous systems. The disease hinders development of the myelin sheath, a fatty covering that protects the brain's nerve fibers. The disease has no known cure.
It's amazing how many times you hear that someone is told they have a certain amount of time to live and they exceed that limit, often by many years. Condolences to the Kelly family.

And kudos to them just for making people aware of Krabbe's....who even heard of that prior to Hunter's birth?

Another thing, Krabbe's is a genetic disorder and yet it didn't stop the Kelly's from popping out another daughter. That had to be a tough decision knowing that they could have another child with that condition.

Also...and this'll tick off the American Taliban.
Great strides were made in combatting Krabbe's through the research done with stem cells.

Rumor has it that in the future Kelly may follow in the footsteps of Jack Kemp and run for Congress as a Republican....we shall see.
