Holy Cow! Now I know why you said you wouldn't be able to make the Vegas college football gig.
We all you wish you a speedy and safe return.

You will definitely be missed, B (even though we know it will only be temporary)....I know you will do us proud and return home safely -- and that goes for all of your brave comrades that will be with you in Afghanistan as well....look forward to conversing with you via e-mail and here's wishing you Godspeed for a successful and speedy deployment.
Keep your head low, man, and come back with some great barracks stories. Peace out!

Best of Luck, AZ. I used to have a lot of friends who went to Iraq on the first go round we had with Sr. I hope things go well for you, and that you have safe and speedy return.

Best wishes and be careful.
Now, quoting myself from another thread in which I posted some AFN frequencies on which sports might be heard:
---------------
Many games are broadcast on Armed Forces Radio.
myafn.net Radio Sports Schedules -- American Forces Radio and Television Service QUOTE
... the American Forces Network (AFN) broadcasts over 500 live professional and collegiate radio sports events a year....
So,
what's the frequency, Kenneth? The problem is that there is no AM or FM station near where you will be. You might be able to get a satellite downlink or hear a
shortwave broadcast from Diego Garcia. I don't think games are carried on the shortwave. Even if they are, the time zone difference will be overwhelming. MNF, which starts at 8 p.m EST on the East Coast of the US, will start at 5 a.m. in the Afghanistan time zone, as Afghanistan is four hours ahead of "UTC," or universal coordinated time, the time at Greenwich, England.

Just an update...
AZ said things are going well (after a two-day trip to get there) and he wanted me to pass along his greetings to you all from Afghanistan.

If you get an e-mail from him, give him my best, and if he meets any Canuks over there, tell him that he should try a real beer. There are a couple of thousand Canuks over there, and trust me, we don't go ANYWHERE without Labatt's Blue or Molson Canadian.

I really missed him. I look forward to a safe return home. We will give him a great welcome back when he returns. I am prior Army and he and I had some great conservations away from this board.
