Yes, it's that time of year again -- time to make and break our resolutions.
Have you set any goals for yourself for 2005?
I have two main goals: 1) going back to the gym, and 2) implementing a concrete plan to save money and pay off my credit cards.
The first goal will be relatively easy since I really like working out and love the results. I have a particular AussieBum bathing suit in mind and I *will* be wearing it and looking fantastic in it this summer. The second goal will be a matter of taking small steps, but I think the discipline I will need to develop to accomplish my savings goals will be more valuable than the money itself.
What about you?

Mine is to make more of an effort in remembering other peoples names. I am really bad at names, so I will be working on it.

Here's the thread from last year -- if you posted any resolutions, feel free to tell us how well (or poorly) you did at keeping them.
As you can see from what I posted in that thread, I don't bother making serious resolutions. One year I told people my resolution was to sleep with a married man. Still waiting for that one to happen... wink

Two resolutions here...
1) Get my butt out of debt.
2) Get back on a semi-regular schedule at the gym, so I don't look totally ludicrous come Speedo time.
Believe it or not, both are pretty much attainable!

My New Years Resolution is to come out to my parents. I've been trying to work up the nerve for two months now, so hopefully I'll do it.
My other New Years resolution is to not get involved in the same dramatic crap again. 2004 was fun, but for me, it was also filled with dramatic friends, annoying boyfriends, and less-than-stellar mental health. I don't want that again.

coyoteugly, thanks and best wishes for the new year back to you. Looking over your list, I was reminded (yet again) that we really do know quite a bit about the OutSports community members, don't we?

My resolutions of 2k5:
1) Keep watching the world. All my life I've had the propensity to remember the most inane details from anytime, which purely baffles people. It also makes life somewhat entertaining.
2) Get more people to see the world from my eyes. Marching to the beat of your own drummer is something I recommend to everyone. Defy conventionality every once in a while, it won't hurt.
3) To embrace my differences more. Even though I love them, and would't trade them in for the world, sometimes I feel my quirks are as much of a liability as they are an asset.
4) Most importantly, to have a great year, to try and keep an even keel on life, and not regret anything.

I resolve to study more about string theory and parallel universes. Oh and get the book by Brian Greene, The Elegant Universe. Those Harvard and Oxford guys are sooooo hot. It must be the big brains they have. I stumbled onto this guys theories while watching the NOVA series on TV. They will either give you a brain hemorrhage or enlighten you. Take your pick. I watch mostly for the nice box that Brian has in those pants. He looks a lot like my partner too. Yummy....

It's been difficult enough for me to maintain my sacrifice during Lent...I cannot imagine holding back on something for an entire year!

As I mentioned, I did come out to my parents. That went very well.
As for the dramatic crap, it's been avoided so far. Let's hope I stay away from it for the rest of the year.
