Reports out of Pittsburgh are saying that the Steelers will release Kordell Stewart by the end of the month in a move motivated by salary cap restrictions. Stewart shouldn't have any problem finding a job as there are a whole lot of teams in need of help at QB. The Bears, Cowboys, Cardinals (assuming they let Plummer go), Panthers all need a starter. Maybe the Redskins take a look? Or the Bengals?

No surprise here -- my partner and many other Steeler fans I know have had a total love-hate feeling toward Kordell -- more hate lately! He's a tremendous athlete -- I always thought he's better in the Slash role than QB. And I wish him well - except, of course, if he ends up with Da Bears

Because most player contract bonuses are dated for "March 1st", look for the next two days to be FULL of excitement in the cuts and releases department...all the cap-heavy big-timers will be "free to look" by Saturday...This is the reason Johnnie Morton was released so suddenly last Feberuary; he was due a 5 MILLION dollar bonus on March 1st and BOOM, the day before, got cut...my loss, Kansas City's gain...and the Lions saved a big 5 MILL....
