I am one of those guys who always likes to wear a white teeshirt under my shirts and polos. The problem that I have had for year is that after I was the teeshirt once or twice the neckband "crinkles" up on me usually resulting in me having to iron the neckband.
I have worn Hanes, CK, Jockey, you name it but I really cannot seem to find one that keeps its shape well. Anyone have a brand that they like that is sorta "beefy" and keeps its shape well especially the neckband?
thanks in advance

Nordstrom (house brand).
I know they are more expensive, but they look good for a much longer time than the cheap stuff and are really comfy.

Far and away the best I've ever had was the JC Penny Stafford heavy cotton tee shirt. They are THE best in holding their shape for quite a long time. The draw back is the cost, but if you catch them on sale, you can get a deal.
You can find them online at JC Penny or at the local store.
Just one thing, this is a heavy tee shirt, so wearing it plus a polo might be a bit much it just depends on the person. I wear them under my polo or button down shirt, because I can't stand those cheap hanes tee shirts they sell.

My office is business casual so my daily attire almost always features a button down shirt or polo with the top button undone and a white tee shirt underneath. I probably have fifteen or more white tee shirts as a result. I think your problem is that you are wearing white undershirts which are lighter and thinner and more prone to becoming mishapen than regular white tee shirts.
My suggestion is to buy plain white tee shirts (not undershirts!) from the Gap or J. Crew. They cost anywhere from $10 to $15 each (but they usually sell 2 for $20), but they never curl up at the collar and they have a lifespan that is easily multiple times that of a Hanes undershirt. I have a few that I've owned for years and they still look like I just bought them. IMO, they are well worth the added cost.

Brooks Brothers makes the best tshirts, and I think they are still made in the US. They are the perfect weight beneath either a polo or a dress shirt, they never curl, are the correct length and wash and dry beautifully. A few years ago I bought by mistake a pack of the v-neck tees, washed them, and then realized when I went to wear them that they were v-neck. The packaging had recently changed and one could not tell the crew from the v-neck. I took them back and they promptly exchanged them for what I had intended to buy.

Ahhh - the old white tee shirt dilemna (especially for, as Ballbusters put it, beefy guys). I also wear a white tee under my dress shirts and occasionally under a polo. I have been through every brand possible. My issue is not wear but fit, especially after the first wash. And size is my second biggest issue because I am between a large and extra large.
After trying every conceivable brand (except Nordstroms house brand, which I'll try because it was mentioned by SJTexas), I like the Stafford brand favored by Todd. I discovered this brand when I borrowed a friend's tee-shirt a few years ago.
Re: size, the Staffords don't shrink like some of the others where I felt that I was shrink rapped. But I have a problem with fit because I am still in an extra-large and sometimes the collar creeps above my shirt when it is buttoned and I am wearing a tie - not a good look...
I've been on a walk-run program. My hope is that in a month or two I can fit well into a large and that will solve the creeping collar issue.

I think
American Apparel has the best t-shirts. It's all American made products w/ an athletic fit to them. There is a worn in feel to them, so I definitely suggest getting some shirts from American Apparel.

Jacques Penne Stafford all the way, baby! No comparison and by far the best value. A close second: Hanes. And 100% cotton only, please!
Brands to avoid: CK, Polo and Macy's house brand, all of which are consistently undersized, in both ring and v-neck styles. Nothing more aggravating than having an overpriced, undersized v-neck showing beneath a nice casual dress shirt open at the collar!

BUT GMG - I thought we were boycotting French products?

Why would you cover that beautiful body with a tee-shirt?!

CK is the best from my experience. A little more pricey but they run sales a few times a year.

I have had great success with Hanes v-neck tshirts. They must be 100% cotton for me. I buy at least 10 at a time so I have a large number to keep in rotation. My problem is not the curling of the neck but the armpit stains. I use Dry Idea antiperspirant. I usually wear the tshirts for a couple of months then throw them all out and buy new ones.
Does anyone have any ideas about the armpit stains and how to clean them or not have the stains in the first place?

Try the Under Armour loose gear T-shirts. They're great. No stains and they feel much better than regular T-shirts.

It costs a bit more, but it is definitely worth the $$$.

Another vote for Stafford. The Heavy weight Tee's. And they're tagless now. Hold their shape incredibly well.

i prefer nautica. collars retain their shape, the weight is good, and they're priced reasonably -- 3 for $14.99 -- when i can find them at a discount retailer like tj maxx or marshall's.
in the past i've tried, and not liked, ck (flimsy), polo (too long) and 2xist (high goofy collars).
i used to wear jcpenney exclusively but somewhere along the way i became a snob...that's so wrong.
